Forest thrive with Wood because he can finish all sorts of chances, he is clinical. Forest break with pace through the midfield and the wings, they’re not just spamming crosses and hoping, they counterattack with fluid passes and power. DCL would be dreadful in Forest’s team, he simply cannot finish with his feet. Elanga, CHO are their wingers and you certainly wouldn’t class them as cross-first. I’m so sick of boring crosses that hit the first man, we need to move away from that style as soon as possible. DCL’s best service under Carlo was from Digne - A FULL BACK. Modern wingers, the best wingers right now do not cross the ball as a first priority, they look to cut inside and score. We’re a decade behind the times and it’s sorely showing.I get your point, but Harrison is left footed and has to cut in onto his left boot. If we want to add to our attacking options we need someone who can do both, cutting in and also beat a man on the outside and cross. We currently lack the ability to break with pace and put an early ball into a dangerous area. Look at Forest with their big target man. They're thriving of this style of play. Also under Carlo we crossed the ball way more than we have been under Dyche and DCL was a different player. We haven't been playing to DCL's strength under Dyche, we've just been lumping balls to him from deep. If we had the ability to break at pace and put a ball in while the defenders are turned and on the back foot, whoever if playing central for us would have far more chances. I certainly wouldn't want another winger who couldn't cross a ball when required.
