You just said it yourself mate. He said we were interested and to his knowledge no deal has been done or is even close. I never actually said that we weren’t interested in him, I said that all of these usual social media merchants reporting that deals have been done and we are talking to the player about personal terms are talking tosh and they are as confirmed by Moyes.

Riiiiiiight. When you said you hadn't seen a source that we were in for him and thought people were making it up, I assumed you meant you thought we might not have any interest in him. Regardless of which sources I'd seen us saying we'd signed him, I think i'd be more inclined to believe the actual manager of the club if he said we hadn't, so I'm not sure what the point of any of that was to be honest.

That was my thought too to be honest. I thought that if we weren't in for him or in some form of advanced talks, he could have easily said no comment.

The fact that he confirmed he is a good player that we are looking at made me think it was close and Moyes might be using the media to his advantage.
