Surprised he give that penalty but can see why he’s given it. It’s a free kick anywhere else on the pitch

The arguments of “Kane kicked his foot” & the “defender has every right to go for it” are absolutely comical though.

Dumfries has jumped into win a ball, studs showing, missed the ball & connected with the centre forwards foot. It’s absolutely irrelevant what his “rights” are when you don’t win the ball.
Thankyou.

Doesn't matter if a player is controlling the ball, passing the ball, dribbling or shooting. If the opposition player goes in studs up and catches the other player's foot, it's a foul. And always has been.

It was soft but hey ho, sometimes you get them and sometimes you don’t, like the hand of god and Lampard’s goal that went about 3 miles behind the line against Germany. Sometimes it just takes a little while to be paid back.
The difference being that the hand of god and Lampard's disallowed goal were both poor decisions. Wednesday's penalty was a correct decision.

It's funny. Here in Germany there is not even a debate about it. All pundits/commentators I've seen/heard have all said clear penalty. No controversy at all.
Same here in Spain.
Albert Ferrer (former Barcelona and Chelsea full back) on co-comms said it's a foul anywhere on the pitch.

I think it's just the haters tbh.

Yes, I agree with this. What I disagree with is the idea that it was a stonewall penalty. It was nothing of the sort. As we know, England have had tremendous luck, but you need that to win tournaments.

One piece of good luck deserves another. Southgate is "being linked with a contract extension." ;)

Hope the referees have their scripts ready, don’t want to make it too obvious do they? Acting classes this week. Hahaha
Penalties won't be an issue. Someone to keep score more like. Can see it being a high scoring game.
