Euro2020 Knock Out Rounds

Martinez has just wasted the best Belgium squad they'll ever see and he didn't win them anything.
He's achieved far less with this squad than the great Guy Thys did with the marvelous 1980s generation that made the Euro 80 final (knocking the Italians out of their own tournament) and the semi-final of the Mexico World Cup (where they did for the Spanish and Soviets). They bloodied Argentina's nose in 1982 as well. Pfaff, Vercauteren, Ceulemans, Van Den Bergh, Van Moer, Gerets, Scifo, etc. Now THAT was a squad. They didn't play in England, though, so Premier League fan boys are utterly oblivious to how great they were.

Everyone knows about Enzo Scifo.

Italy best team in the first half; Belgium best team in the second. Italian cynicism got them over the line.

If Hazard had played that ends up in a Belgian win.
Have to be disappointed though by the overall performance considering the talent Belgium have. They may never have this many talented players at their disposal again.

Disagree here lad. Italy never looked like losing this one . Insigne goal was class. They closed it out the italian way. Rode their luck but defended hard. Furbo

This

I know it makes us look like old farts but the 80s Belgian side was tremendous.

Denmark is a likely upset...
Nah, we're going to Schick 'em.

You know how Christensen always looks like he's about to burst into tears? Well the Czechs are going to bully him relentlessly by passing the ball harmlessly from side to side 30 yards from goal before passing it back to the goalie to hoof into the stands.

Moshiri will be looking at that Benitez contract trying to find a way to void it before giving Silhavy the keys to Goodison Park.

Those players were done about 2 years ago. Russia was their peak.

Roberto kept them No.1 in the world way beyond when they could have reasonably have expected to stay there.
