There'll be a few of the notorious English urchins within that lot, but from what I can see they're mostly young adults or students who are out on the lash.

The football is merely a convenient excuse for them to go out, get ruined and do stuff that students rightly or wrongly do, which is cause mayhem.

I bet there's a few in the MET who are looking forward to giving a few of them a
Just glad it’s down there out the way, excuse is the right word would this happen if it was rugby tho?

It defies the imagination what is going to take place after the match. Having a late kick off is fueling the madness. Crazy. Should have played this in the afternoon once England made it to the final.
Pubs down here in Southampton are announcing they are closing early.
A few have been trashed after previous games.
Can you blame them ?
Be arsed working and trying to serve half of these gobshites.

Haha, schadenfreude for them if the Italians lose.

Plenty of Europeans I know want England to win.
It's funny. It only seems to be a football thing where the Spanish haven't got a good thing to say about the Italians normally. There's no animosity towards Italians in general.
With the French it's the opposite. Very negative attitude in general but full of positivity towards French football and footballers.

No it wouldn't, but I think that would be due to the match attracting less interest. Back in November 2019, I got up early to watch us in the RWC final.

Lots of people however weren't interested or didn't know it was taking place, so it didn't get the same reaction. Football, due to it being part of the fabric, will.

I was watching the Croatia game in a pub in Torquay and talking to the bar staff the fans closest to the outdoor TV had been there since 8.30 in the morning and they were smashing jaggerbombs and pitchers of lager. By KO it was a powder keg, security were trying to keep them sat on the tables and because there were so many of them they were able to do what they want. Later that afternoon we saw the staff have to flip all the tables to try and clear the glass that was on the floor.

The only good thing was they were all at home by 7pm nursing headaches/sunburn/alcohol poisoning so it was a peaceful evening for the rest of us. They just take it way too far and the 8pm start tonight was just crazy town thinking.

England XI: Pickford, Trippier, Walker, Stones, Maguire, Shaw, Rice, Phillips, Sterling, Mount, Kane.

Five at the back again.

I wouldnt disagree. But the accountants at UEFA and the marketing folk at Coke and Heinekan and Just Eat etc etc would.
Let them pick up the tab for the damage that is already happening and later, whatever happens in the game. It's going to be carnage and innocent people are going to get hurt. Got a bad feeling about this whole mess. Shameful.
