I mean 99% of matches are fine. When I was younger I went to several England games at Wembley and there was no trouble at all. Most home England matches are full of middle class families and kids rather than yobs. Club football is far more sketchy and even that’s pretty timid most of the time.

Yeah, I get your point mate. I’d still be on edge if I was with my boys though because that minority of matches and the minority of hooligans aren’t enough of a minority to settle my nerves.

But would the FA/UEFA condemning them make it stop? I think it's better to treat them like trolls to be honest. Charge them for their crimes but don't give them any attention. Will never happen though!

Sorry mate but I couldn’t disagree more. The “ignore them and they’ll go away” argument is just a way of not having to face up to the issue.

Condemnation alone may not work, no, but punishing the FA/national team and initiating serious criminal proceedings against those identified might help. My point is doing nothing shouldn’t be an option.
