no chance of Liverpool airport or manchester it seems, so might have to start looking from midland i think.. 3 of us trying to do the wed till friday..

Stansted to Berlin with Ryanair, early morning flight available Thurs, then either morning or evening flight return following day - cost currently around £100 (might be slightly cheaper if you go out wedn eve).

Luton to Berlin Easyjet - couple of flight time options but you'll pay a bit more

Have seen a few on GOT are going to Berlin. Train straight to Wolfs just over the hour....couldnt ask for better than that really!!

Just a little heads up for anyone getting train in Germany to read the t's and c's when they've booked. You will probably be asked for ID details as part of you booking. As we don't have ID cards, I opted to use my credit card as my ID. If anyone does this as well, you will need to take the card that you used to pay with you

Cheers for that, presumably you dont have to pre-book trains though you can walk up on the day to station. Be more expensive that way at a guess.

WOLFSBURG
are your tickets the same as mine on poor quality thin paper?
...
hope they aren't a problem selling on.
wouldn't call it poor, just a bit harder paper, looking like laserprinted
maybe it makes sense to leave them together on that piece of paper, showing perforation, which is more difficult to fake.

I think someone suggested walk up prices can be 3 or 4 times the advance booking price. Maybe someone can confirm this

booking of special prices can be done up to 3 months before date of travel till 3 days before (I think)
prices may rise fast, especially for Friday or busy dates.
with special prices you have to use the booked train, no other one

there are some offers on regional trains, to be booked until day of travel, not good for ICE and other fast trains
click "local transport" to search connections for that

these links seem to work better in some cases of search - german page
