Eva Carneiro leaves Chelsea

It is little unusual in that there are relatively few of the women that go into medicine that chose that particular branch but it isn't as though you're seeing a unicorn performing CPR.

Yes Jose was being a tit as per but he was asking both Carneiro and Fearn to ignore their medical responsibilities - doctors have to run onto the pitch when the ref waves them on, which this ref did twice. There is no ambiguity in this - they were perfectly correct in their actions to tend Hazard and Jose was wrong and breaching premier league rules in trying to interfere with them, it is in no way analogous to a player who gets on the wrong side of a manager.

Mourinho then compounded the issue by not only blasting them publicly in the post match comments but also used their actions as a reason for demoting them. Fearn at least was able to travel with the first team even if he could no longer sit on the bench and it took him over six months before he was restored to full duties which I oersonally don't comside "quickly enough"

However Carneiro was banned from all contact with the first team - even if she'd wanted to there was no job for her to "get her head down and show the right attitude" unless you're suggesting she should have made Jose a nice bacon sarnie and cup of team after training or offerred passing strangers medical advice,

The fact that out of two doctors involved , one is back with the first team as before and one is a few million pounds better off and sitting on her arse speaks volumes about their attitude to me. I think she's been wronged then milked it for all it was worth, which is her prerogative.

At least you now agree that both medical staff were wronged.

But as I pointed out their resultant work situations were quite different, Fearn still had some of his job whereas Carneiro had none of the duties of hers - one was demoted whilst the other effectively sacked. They could also have been in quite different personal circumstances - Carneiro was single with no kids therefore no family obligations to consider when risking a court case or moving for a new job. Perhaps Fearn was in the same circumstances or perhaps he is in a personal situation that meant staying at Chelsea and avoiding the emotional/financial demands of a court case was worth putting up with being mistreated?

Personally view the court case as much of a vindication of Jon as it was of Eva.

I agree. Totally sexist of Mourinho and Chelsea to treat her like that.

And yes she's well fit.

I actually don't know the answer to this, but was the other doctor removed from his duties on the bench too?

Because if so, it's his problem if he doesn't sue, as he has them bang to rights. It doesn't make Carneiro's actions less valid that he hasn't done so.

I don't see what your problem is.

I haven't got a problem with it at all, I dislike Chelsea and I'm happy they got stung. I've not once said she was in the wrong for doing her job. I just think she had no intention of trying to resolve the spat any other way than she did, which I believe it would have been possible for her to regain her position if she had the desire to do so, like the other doctor involved, instead she played the victim tremendously.

I don't think when an employer makes a genuine mistake that could be resolved the first thing you should do is be looking to sue for constructive dismissal but that seems to be the way it is these days. Like I said I think she milked it for all it was worth. good luck to her for that but I don't think it looks good for her, Chelsea or Mourinho and I didn't see her as a good example of how to conduct yourself.

Big Nevs having a mare here

Sue me Mikey.

If it had of happened at Everton and the doctor got a few mill off us I recon there would be a few different opinions about it.

She didn't play the victim, she was the victim.

Your stance is fundamentally flawed. She shouldn't have to regain her position as she should never have lost it in the first place. That's what you are missing.

I've already said she was wronged and it is her prerogative to sue though, I just view her behaviour differently to you, I just thought she was a bit of a cryarse is all.
