Yep, remember the FA Cup Final well, I seriously don't think I've still got over that you horrors. Bit harsh sending Moran off mate, but it turns out you only needed ten that day.

Who knows with the European Cup mate? We had one of the best sides in our history but nothing is a given, I'm sure we'd have had a good go like but we didn't even win the league that year.

Only 'cos we had Bobby Mimms in goal for half the season!

One Golden Generation so far defines Fergie, still never recaptured the highs he managed with the lads he brought through as nippers. Message, Fable, Lesson in there somewhere, and having tried to reteach a lesson so prominent through history one would have expected him to have realised it himself instead of buying fifth class players since. Fletcher aint bad for his spot, but when he is the stand out player there is a fundamental problem.
Father time catches all, not just knighted managers, bit also clubs that consider themselves the greatest.

Job done

No 19 beckons hopefully (y)

A monkey could come second as manager of Utd. Shankly built something from almost nothing, whether we like it or not, and every one of LFC's titles (certainly, pre-Heysel) was merited. You get the feeling that United bought their way there a little. A great achievement for Old Beetroot Face, no doubt, but not as breathtaking as Utd fans like to think.

Shankly was an outstanding manager and an outstanding man, it will be difficult to repeat what he done.

But United were [Poor language removed] when he took over, eleven league titles and two European Cups is nothing to be sneezed at. It's horribly more than we have won.

Scholes, Giggs, Nevilles, Butt, May, Beckham, + Rudolf Peter, Sparky and Keane with some seasoned defenders is a fair shout considering. Robson I forgot, but he only paved the way. Remember it was the transition period where by the worlds best didn't turn up in our league. Also remember they got hammered for 3 or 4 seasons in the old knockout CL before they grew into it.

The brilliance of Fergusons United were the stepping stone for PL football between the end of the old div 1 / early prem years and the modern English top leage that we see today.

We're about the 4th/5th most successful club in the history of English football. Fergie has collected more trophies than we ever have, in the space of 20 odd years. That sums up just how good he is.

The thing is we all like to say it's easy to win stuff if you're managing a big, rich club. Allardyce was on about that about when he was saying how he'd win the double every year at Real Madrid.

But, it just ain't true, there have been lots and lots of Man Utd managers who have won f all. Ferguson is the exception rather than the rule.

I don't wear that, how many times have any side other that Man U been stopped by the government from being taken over by the broadcaster of the top tier?
