I have a feeling Straq will be benched :(

He was immense last night, and not just coz he ran his little heart out. With the ball at his feet I thought he was quality.
 
Also, i didnt think the neville handball was a penalty, i did think the lescott one was at the time, but to be honest cahill is pushed around like that all the time upfront

And why did fellainis tackle get special attention? He got the ball it was fair
 
Love how Joe Hart was looking for a fight when Denis challenged him for that high ball.

He got up, then diverted his anger onto the ref when he saw it was Denis that did him.

He must have realised Denis would eat him!
 

Best performance of the season. Watched MoTD for a change & the highlights (after going to the game). Plus the transfer news.


Watching the game again I thought, sure, we played really well but it was mostly City that did all the pressing without success. One might argue they were unlucky with the possession they had but they didn't use it well enough whereas we took our chance & defended with our lives. Great night!


And no! Hansen - it was never a foul by Fellaini for the goal in a million years. Bitter Gobsh1te!

7's all round (only just for Royston, 8 for Dennis & Fellaini, 9s for Hibbo & Johnny - top notch performances all over the pitch.

That really wound me up last night them harping on about Fellainis tackle? looking at it in slow mo its Djeko that stamps Felli not the other way round, Phil's pen? seen them given but would have been real harse i dont think he could have avoided that. plus he didnt make a movement towards the ball with his hand so not intentional in my opinion. Lescott incident? again seen them given but for me was 50 50 and the keeper always comes off in a 50 50. thought the ref actually had a very good game last night let the play continue then brought back for Drenthe yellow (entirely correct) yeah good game by the ref well done.

Neville - 5: Looks nervous with ball at feet, engine warning light firmly on
Hibbert - 8: Amazing out of position game. Skinned a couple of times though to short for a F/T CB
Hetinga - 8: Really ruffled Dzekos feathers from the off and did not put a foot wrong
Baines - 6 : Though he was quiet
Dr. Enthe 5 : I know he did the ball for the goal but thought he had a shocker.
Fellaini - 8 : I reckon he had twice the touches of any other Everton player
Gibson - 7 : Did owt wrong and great goal
Donovan - 8 : Came alive in the second half in the middle of most of our good work
Cahill - 6 : Played on well after injury but quiet
Straq 9 : MOM Ran his lungs out, chased lost causes, turned the game IMO

agree mostly donovan only a 7 for me, bad 1st good 2nd half. Nev a 6 thought he was solid enough but age is showing, drenthe a 6 hes got his faults but his running at the citeh scared them witless, agree with the straq attack getting MoM and a 9. begining to love the argie bargie

Great last day business in the window from Moyes as well. Could really kick on from here especially when Jags, Distin, Seamus and Rodwell get back. "Thursday Nights, Channel 5!"....maybe?

But for those cheating diving Seaweed we'd have had six points off of our closest "rivals" last night. Still, we make do with four and have kept Zaha and Clyne until the end of the season at least. So, all in all, Great Day!! :lol:
