GOOD THINGS
N’Diaye - what a player and fighter. Anything good came from him and he wriggled out of some holes to get us on the front foot. Great pen. He put in some incredible work defensively, epseicallly with his lack of game time and I imagine some reservations with his knee, some really standout tackles and turnovers he made.
Hope his struggles at the end were to get back at their play acting, not that he’s hurt
Branthwaite’s last ditch tackle - Everyone screaming at him to close down sooner but he timed it to perfection and gave the crowd a lift. An excellent defender. Please stay for at least one more year
Pickford’s saves - think the Trossard one was offside but his reflexes were Spider-Manesque. We are so lucky to have him
Patterson - had a solid game and good to see Moyes go for him over Young. Bodes well he could get more opportunities there or possibly right back or rwb before the season is out and show he still has a future here
McNeil’s return - will give us a huge boost and fresh ideas. I don’t think he’s brilliant but he’s much he is better than all our wide options aside from Iliman. We need a shake up for the run in
Team Spirit - we are not a good side but by god are we dogged. Some resolve Moyes has created in the squad
Sunny Goodison - sat leaning against the bricks as I type this out, soaking it in. This is a special place and I will miss it terribly. I had a long hiatus from here until a couple of seasons ago and I really regret it. I hope this is not my last visit
