Vic cant score simple as he is better out wide or as an impact sub.I am looking foreward to the new formation moyes was on about last week them square pegs will be going in round holes

I know there is a lot more to it than stats but it's kind of interesting to look at this:

Beckford has five goals (all comps) in 20 appearances.

Vic has twelve goals (all comps) in 92 appearances.

I know Vic got some games very young and doesn't play striker all the time. Even so.

If you project Beckford out, assuming he never improves at all, he'd have 23 goals in 92 appearances (double Vic's total). Hopefully he will improve.

Saha has 27 goals in 86 appearances. Not that much better than Beckford projects out to do even when his stats are based on playing his first season in the Prem and you'd hope he'd improve.

If Beckford improves even a little you'd expect his strike rate to surpass Saha.

Beckford needs to play every single game to get confidence and experience. He hasn't done as badly as some (even myself before I really thought about it) feel so far. He's not that much of a drop off from Saha right now. I know people will point to Saha's non-scoring game as better but Beckford has some flashes of good touches and passes -- he's missed a lot too granted but I think that will come. Plus, strikers need to score. If they are holding the ball up, linking and passing well ... but the rest of the team isn't scoring as a result, then what bloody good is that? Becks upside is way higher ... get him (and Bily for that matter) in the team!

My XI:
-------------HOWARD-----------
NEVILLE--JAGS---DISTIN--BAINES
COLEMAN-FELLI--RODWELL-ARTETA
--------------BILLY-------------
--------------SAHA--------------

Normally be a fan of 442, but for these next 2 games id like to see us revert to the 451, pretty sure moyes will too but hel more than likely have Leon on the left and Billy on the bench.

Not confident, tbh, prob draw and go out at there place, or win, and draw manure/arsenal away in the 5th.

Mark Lawrenson's Prediction

Everton v Chelsea (1230 GMT)

This will be an interesting test for Chelsea.

I was at the Reebok Stadium on Monday and, until Didier Drobga put them ahead against Bolton, there were no great signs that they were back on track.

Even afterwards, although they went on to win 4-0, that was more down to how bad Bolton were rather than anything out of the ordinary by Chelsea.

I'd expect Everton to be up for this at Goodison Park and they will make life as difficult as possible for Carlo Ancelotti's side.

It should be extremely competitive, with tackles flying in from both sides, and I can see it going to a replay.

Prediction: Everton 1-1 Chelsea

Thanks mate.

I think Moyes has subsequently clarified his post match thought on Fellaini in an advanced role: he doesn't see it as a starter. I think he'd resort to it in desperate circumstances and no more than that.

As for Coleman: had a poor game against WHU but I think he's shown in the past he can bounce back from a bad game and put in a stormer. I expect that Coleman/Cole duel to be key and it'll be fascinating to see who comes out on top.

I saw that earlier. Why is noone buying tickets? That is going to look pretty pathetic..

Protest? Because we deserve to get into the stadium for free to watch the crap we have played this year? As for my excuse, im just having a day with my girlfriend, and watching the match...

..oh and the fact that i dont have any money what so ever :/
