I think we are hitting form now, people playing in their proper positions. We were so unlucky against the Arse. Someone somewhere is in line for a proper doing.

3 - 2 to us. Our defence still doesn't look rock solid.

Will be a tough game for us, if we lose or draw to you guys; the media will overwhelm us with "mancini is no different to hughes", if we win; they'll say we'll win the league. Extremes either way.

Can see it being close whichever way it goes, but I hope we don't start with Benjani again. Will be interesting to see how effective Donovon is in the premier league.

There's clearly now a big rivalry between our two clubs over competing position and the Lescott saga, will hopefully make it an action packed fun game, just a shame I can't make it.

welcome matey keep all your post like that and we'all get along fine
as for the game tight i agree but obviously i fancy us 2-1

City Fan here...

Im 30, and have been a true fan (going to games etc) from about 13, so im not a plastic blue who has come out of the woodwork once the arabs turned up. I've been there when times were really bad and stuck with them and i'm finally reaping some reward for doing so. For once its good to be a city fan!(y)

I can see how a lot of people have taken offense at the way we have arrived here, but I can honestly say any other club put in the same situation would have done things very similar and also appeared to be selling their 'soul'. As much as its a shame that football is now a lot about money, there is nothing we can do about it. With the amount of money involved in football, it brings pressure. Pressure to get results now! Hence the reason we have had to go out and throw the cheque book around and pay over the odds for players, Lescott included. I can honestly say all the signings we have made have been at over inflated prices, and yes, most of them came for the money. The only player I believe has been worth the money is Tevez..but like I say, give 200m to any club mid table and they will go out and buy the best players they can as quick as possible, and sadly that means offering silly money...doesnt change the fact that most clubs would do the same in our position...

Anyway, back on the topic...I've been to every game this season at home, and a few away and can see a big difference in Mancinis City. I know we have not played a real tough side yet and at times looked mediocre against Blackburn, Stoke etc But I feel Mancini is a LOT more tactically aware than Huges was and adapts formation and play on the fly to suit...
So far we have done what was required to see out that particular game. Mancini is respectful of every opponent and he will treat you as a different prospect than stoke etc. I think it will be a fairly open game, I expect us to counter and sneak a win 2-1 as youre missing too many key players. It will be good to see as its a massive game for us, as its the first real test of the new ethos..

What team are you lot putting out do you think?

Welcome MCFC, finally a sensible blue manc. I do sympathise with you on the media reaction to your boys. Desperate to build you up so they can tear strips off you at the first sign of trouble.

Fellaini and Cahill vs Barry and De Jong should be tasty but could easily cancel each other out I think the game will depend on whether our makeshift backline can handle Tevez and (I assume) Bellamy. Neill is the suspect one for us.

Outwide I'd suggest we might get some joy, Pienaar has been on top of his game recently and although Richards seems to be winning over the doubters he's going to know he's been in a game. Donovan certainly looked promising against Le Arse.

It really could go either way as far as I'm concerned. My natural bias says a win for us, maybe getting that little bit of luck that we've missed all year.

Where do you predict the game being won and lost? Will Micah cope with our little Saffa?

Welcome CTID, you wait ages for 1 proper blue manc supporter then two come along at once (y)

I don't think there will be any surprises from us. Same team as against Le Arse with Neville at RB behind Donovan who looked to have done enough to keep Bilyetdinov out of the starting XI. We're still a few weeks from seeing a proper CB to partner Heitinga sadly.

In terms of tactics our usual 451 with Cahill supporting Saha. I don't think it will be open with the midfield probably pretty congested. I expect a high tempo approach, some borderline naughty midfield tackles and crossed fingers everytime Neill has to deal with anything.

I assume you'll have Bellamy back in place of Benjani, any other changes do you think?

Im not sure Bellamy will start, he may be rested for the semi final on Tuesday. I have no doubt the game will be a physical one, hence some players may get a rest. I wouldnt be suprised to see us play a 4-3-3 with Robinho, Tevez and Santa Cruz forward, Barry Dejong and SWP behind and Garrido, Zabaletta, Kompany and Richards at the back...

I think if we played something like the above, play some good diaganol balls and move it through the middle, we'll score...

Im very happy with Richards and Kompany (barring his miskick against Blackburn) at the back, I hope they have what it takes to stop the inform saffa...:)

Agreed, should be a good game...hopefully try and make it, but at worst at least ESPN are showing it...

SWPs form is unknown, he has been out for a while now...Having said that, he was in fine form before taking a knock, and he has the pace and the willingness to make runs that I think we need against a packed midfield...

What do you make out of the Viera signing? I honestly can't see him replacing De Jong. I really admire Admire De Jong. he reminds me of Lee Carsley

I hate these games against City, as it pits me against my sky blue dad. Even when we win, I feel guilty, when they win he feels guilty. Even if we draw I'll still feel bad because we didn't win... It's a lose-lose-lose situation for me in terms of emotions.

Thats a funny situation you're in mate, and unfortunate aswell but nothing you can do about it. Your dad won't be feeling guilty because of the money they got I'm sure.

We're gonna win this one..so practice well to not feeling guilty(y)

Faddy, the viera signing is good I think. Not sure where is gonna get played yet, there are rumours he is being converted into a centreback/sweeper. He doesnt deserve to replace de jong as he has been fantastic! I think he may come on for the last 20 against you if we are winning, if he proves himself, who knows? But i can honestly say id rather see Barry sit out than De jong...Oh, Viera is also apparently going to be moulded into a player coach of sorts, a link between Mancini and the squad players...which sounds like a good idea...

I wish it was Friday! Cant wait for this game!

no problem

cant wait for saturday hahahahahahahaaaaaaa

How old are you? 12?

Bet you're one of the melts that did bother buying a season ticket before Sven and Takshin came in, remember that? When you barely had a squad, you were in the [Poor language removed] financially, and you had sold barely any season tickets?

Was only a few years ago...(y)
