hi, city fan here, i just wanted to come on here to see what you think about the game at the weekend so read through this thread.

ive gotta say on the whole i have the utmost respect for Everton fans, even though every club has their individual idiots but most a proper football fans.

personally, i think we will win this saturday but we will only just scrape it, i just think that with the form that we're in and the players that you have out (even though we also have a lot out) we will have too much for you to handle, despite you also being in good form(watched the Arse game and you should have won), and i will go for a last 10 minute winner from Robbie in a 2-1 win

finally can i just say that dont go around calling our fans, like i said before, we, like any other team, have our idiot fans but to say that all of us aren't proper football fans is a bit of a joke to be honest (filling the ground while in the third tier) and yes, our fan base has probably increased the last year and a half but most have been loyal to our club and i personally would say that we have some of the best fans in the league and soon we will reap the rewards for travelling to York and Oxford.

See you on Saturday (y)

We're not saying you not proper football fans, we're saying your gobsh1tes! You lot are so smug now that you have a sugar daddy, you think your God's gift, the arrogance from your fans, especially in the last year says it all.

Every time i go to City, i hear 'Munich' this, 'Munich' that, you chant disgusting stuff about scousers, at least when United do it to us, it is done with some banter, your just horrible vile supporters. I've said on here before, i hate City over the reds over the park now. I thought they were bitter untill City fans started piping up. And the other thing is, it's not just us and United, other clubs no how bitter, twisted and vile you are aswell now.

I know every club has it's idiots, none more so than us, but City seem to have a LOT more than any other club.

And all this preceeds the whole Lescott thing.

As i've said before and i'll say again. Do you really think that Toure, Adebayor, Barry, Tevez, Lescott, Robinho, Viera, etc would be at your club if it wasn't just for money?? Because they are all sell-outs, i defy any City fan to look me in the eye and tell me those players are their for the history, tradition, success and pride of Manchester City Football Club. If the money ever went, you'd soon see those players you love so dear, run a mile! There not there for you or your club, there simply there for money - i hope your happy with that.

At least at Everton i know the players love the club and want to play for the fans, not just there bank balances!

Such a shame to see such obvious jealousy, can i just ask a few questions, and if possible get honest answers?

1. As apparent dedicated fans, do you not want the best for your club?
I sure do, and can honestly say im truly excited at the prospect of success. I would much rather be owned by billionaires, and be where we are now and resented by some, than where Everton are currently. Would you swap positions with city if you could, or does mediocrity suit?

2 If a rich 3rd party came in to inject money Everton, would you not be happy, and dont you think would also do exactly what we have?
I think it would be very naive for you to think you can achieve anything near europe with your current team, manager and owners.

Anyone care to reply intelligently?

Sure, I'll reply "intelligently."

1) We'd love to have the money. We really would. But not at the cost of doing things the right way. However, and hear me clearly here, we'd EASILY be top 6 right now had injuries not decimated our squad. Arteta, Jagielka, Yakubu, Neville..etc... Surely these names right a bell. I would NOT want to swap with City in anyway shape or form. Do I resent City? Not at all. They don't even come on to my radar screen. To me, they're just team with very little history like Blackburn, Bolton, etc.. but with just a bit more money.

2) We've already achieved Europe with the same manager, owners, and lesser group of players so your question is a bit "naive" in it's own right.

Lastly, tread carefully on here. If you'd like to converse about the match and not be such a windup merchant, then we'd love to have you. But expect a bit of stick as you're opposition. That said, it doesn't make it all right for you to throw it back. If you can handle it, then you'll be welcomed here as have other opposition supporters.

Will be cheering on the Toffees in the pub on Sat after our match

Reminds me a lot of that Villa supporter who showed up here last year while Villa were top four and we were floundering a bit. He just could not shut his gob.

The minute Everton passed them in the table, he never came on again.

Typical glory hunters.

Blimey Faddy...I think that Mancini has played in some bigger games than this ...how's about (N)azio v Roma circa 1999-2000 when Eriksson was boss at Nazio and Capello head man at Roma..both were in the running for the title that season. And both groups of Ultras put up some very errr...well worded banners . The Irruducibli in particular had a huge one about Serbian war criminal Arkan.Game was 80000 sell out and very tense. Makes the game at Goodison pretty tame really...HOWEVER I am expecting a hostile atmo...trust Robiniho to only have ONE decent game away last year. Where at ?? You guessed...at our gaff..Roll on Saturday

Maybe so but Italian football is nothing like what it was in the 80's and 90's. Downhill since then.

I'm amazed that some people have even bothered to respond to that complete melt in this thread. Anyone coming onto an Everton forum and claiming we will not achieve Europe again with the 3 times LMA Manager of the year and a group of players who have achieved European finishes consistantly in the last 5 years either knows nothing about football or is clearly on a windup.

I for one am not going to be fooled by City's wins over Premier League powerhouses such as Wolves, Stoke and Blackburn. The last time they played a genuine European contender away from home (Spurs) they were duely spanked 3-0. I actually feel sorry for the genuine City supporters (the ones who really did go to York et al) who are being drown out by the tide of belters who are coming out of the online woodwork now.

City have some good players and a better manager than they started the season with (not exactly hard) but they have proved nothing. Even fans of genuine big sides know that playing us is a game where points are likely to be dropped, just ask the Gooners and they are one of the few teams who actually give us a hiding from time to time.

This game has the potential to go either way, we're still missing important players and Lady Luck has been AWOL for as long as I can remember but if City's players come to Goodison with the same complacency and arrogance as some of their fans they'll be in for a nasty shock.

I said if before the Arsenal game and I'll say it again now: We might not win but we sure as hell won't lose. Signore Mancini hasn't had a proper test yet - he'll sure as hell have one against us!

City, does have quite a few decent player but in my eyes they are full of holes, if we did play them in August with our form then I did say we did lose to City.

But with our current form and momentum we are gathering here, it would take more than Man City to stop us, if you were Man Utd or Chelsea you might stand a chance, and you would be lucky if you get a draw on Saturday.

Will be a tough game for us, if we lose or draw to you guys; the media will overwhelm us with "mancini is no different to hughes", if we win; they'll say we'll win the league. Extremes either way.

Can see it being close whichever way it goes, but I hope we don't start with Benjani again. Will be interesting to see how effective Donovon is in the premier league.

There's clearly now a big rivalry between our two clubs over competing position and the Lescott saga, will hopefully make it an action packed fun game, just a shame I can't make it.
