I think I have a man-love over Mikel and Marouane.

But yeah, routine win, pleasing stuff.

A win this weekend will only confirm my previous beliefs we can get into Europe this season.

Good result, we killed the game off in the first half really. Sunderland didn't have enough to get back into the game and we just saw the game out.

Great to see Arteta and Anichebe back, also great to see Arteta is going straight into the middle of the park and not on the wing. That's probably the strongest bench we've had all season.

Thought we were sloppy last 20 minutes and a goal could have made it more nervous.

However, it was still a good performance - although Louis is looking Jaded, and slow for some reason.

Cahill answered his critics, notable me. He had a much improved performance and did what he does best.

Fellaini awesome as always.

Special note for Distin who has obviously stepped his game up after the arrival of Senderos.

Back four looked solid for the most part. Although hoofball was evident in the 2nd half. The game was dead at half-time. But we still had the obligotary last 10min nerves.

I thought both Pienarr and Saha looked a little lost. Heitinga and Distin played well. Would have loved to have seen Coleman given a run at RB. Howard had to be alive with 2 good saves.

All in all a solid win, we will play better in future matches and lose. On to Wigan at the wknd.

I dont get to go to many games but thought the atmosphere was awful-you could hear a pin drop at times! think i need to get away from the top balcony although i do like the view:D

Understand that the game was pretty much dead at half time as sunderland were awful. Still, was impressed with the quality we showed at times.

with the exception of his hoofball tendenices, thought distin was pretty solid! in fact thought everyone played well:

Osman-great feet to make space
Fellaini-gets better every game
Pienaar-the missus loves him, "he just pops up everywhere" She then threw all the good knowledge away when she said after the game, "if sunderland has got one goal, would everton still have got all three points?":o

It was a overall a great performance and I am delighted with the result, although we should have scored couple more goals.

Neville is probably the weakest link this time, he generally done his defending up to a good standard, but his distribution of the ball should be better, we know his speed is nothing compare to Coleman, so I am not expecting him to go down the line much, but he is not making used of Donovan enough to relived pressure for the left-side.

We have generally dominated most of the match, had we been able to make used of the ball better on the right, we could have easily scored 3/4 goals in the first half, and one things I am not too please is to see us sit back toward the end, allowing them to come at us, did we even consider to explore the open space when they try to find a goal and counter attack and get our third goal?

The first two subsitution was correct giving Arteta a chance to feel the pace of the game and Vaughan replacing a tiring Saha, but I am well and truely disappointed with the third subsitution playing two striker and changing a formation that has been effective from the beginning is not exactly a clever things to do.

Neville is clearly looked tired for sometime and I would have expected to see Coleman coming on for him in the last bit. As much as I fancy seeing Anichebe in action it was just the wrong choice, they were trying to pin us down toward the end to find some goals, and we needed some pacy player to come in to help us with a quick counter attack when we got out of defending and putting a not match fit Anichebe on, is just not what we need at the time.

Cahill performance has been looking below par for a while now, but today he look more like his old self, Pienaar has been doing great as usual but clearly been tightly marked by Sunderland player and it was expected when Bruce know Pienaar was the key player in starting our attack.

It's great Osman is there to help him and the rest of the lads move around to offering Pienaar option with his passes, Donovan looking sharper as he play more game, it just we are not making used of him enough, probably forgotten how to attack from the right, when most of our attack goes from the left these day.

Another strong performance from Heitinga he is looking better and better in the CB position, a more solid performance from Distin but still not at his best he is stilling making too much mistakes and on a less dominated performance from us, would have certainly caused us conceding some goals, luckily the momentum was with us and with a bit of lady luck we have got through this game without conceding.

Distin need to upped his game or else Senderos would be waiting to step in and by the time Jagielka is fit, the two starting CB position could well be between Heitinga, Senderos or Jagielka, if Distin don't reduced his number of mistakes in a game?

Baines, Donovan, Osman & Saha has also done well for us in this game, but last of all a special mention of Fellaini who are growing in confidence and certainly making the holding midfield role his own, he was simply brilliant. Keep up the good work and I want the same performance against Wigan and without a doubt three points should be there for the taking!

Good win and good to quickly bounce back after the Brum defeat. Did enough and killed the game off early. Would of got squeaky bum time if Sunderland would of scored with 10 mins to go as we just went to sleep.

Still a win is a win and it makes my journeys home a lot easier when we do win.
Didn't get home till gone half 1! M6 and roadworks at the minute are a bloody nightmare...
