Match Thread Everton 2-2 Man United. Sat Feb 22nd. 12.30.

The bloke on VAR I had never heard of, speaks volumes as to why. Checked ages for the Beto goal looking at every opportunity to overturn it when on first watching everyone could see it was fine. Not even a second checking a possible offside for their second when the ball went into the box from the free kick. No surprise he has told him to check the penalty back, but never enough there to reverse a decision. You do that if you think someone has dived or the referee has made a howler. That was neither. Also no surprise that the closer that United get to the relegation zone, the more meticulous they become with these. Be huge for United to go down, which they won't, but the Premier League don't want to risk it

What a contrast that Madley performance was from Taylor's last weekend. I cannot stand it when refs just blow up every 30 seconds and buy every foul.

To be clear, nothing will come of it. Might get a difference of opinion on Sky next Monday, Sue will say it’s a pen. And the whole game will never be mentioned again.

Makes all the money, training, hundred of people jobs, organisation, fans cost, fans time, passion, stress all completely irrelevant when a bell with a whistle has the final say over the outcome.
