I think this will be tighter than many expect. They are poor, but whether Moyes can get the players to overcome what remains one of our longest-standing mental blocks, I don’t know. With a few of our injured players in the side I’d be more confident, for though Palace was a great win it was more of a coin toss than some might choose to remember. Were I a betting man I might go for a draw or narrow Everton win.

More generally, just GREAT to be going into this game without that sense of dread about the outcome, and the outcome of other matches. Maybe that psychological cushion will be the catalyst we need.

EDIT: To be clear, I am ACTUALLY LOOKING FORWARD to an Everton game. Such a strange feeling.

I never feel confident playing Utd, we can be the best team for 90 minutes but they seem to either score a worldly, get a dodgy pen, or a deflected goal to snatch it. I’d take a point and move on.

At Goodison we would normally give them a game. It was away games that were the issue
