I can't really fault Moyes' tactics to be honest, his starting eleven was the right one and Yakubu, his sub, got us the goal we needed. The players attitude was our problem today, it was all wrong, and that's not the first time this season. Too many players coasting and taking there foot off the gas. Sadly, we are not a good enough team to do this. We lack composure, concentration and consistency. In the end, we got what we deserved.

Good to see Yakubu get a goal and he deserves to be starting games at this moment in time, Saha is out of form and it's only fair, you should be judged on your performances, and Yak has got a few goals of late. Hopefully Arteta is back against Villa, we need him big time, he really carries this team.

Seems to me that Everton has fallen into playing at the level of the opponent. Not a bad thing when going against the better sides, but a total ball suck when drawing with the likes of Wolves and West Ham in the middle of a Euro push.

Earlier in the season most of us would have been happy with a top half finish. Then we go on a run and look as though top 6 - even top 4 - is achievable. We get greedy, we want it. But now it's almost as if the elastic belt that had been holding us down at the wrong end won't stretch any more unless we pull real hard, and that effort only seems to come when up against teams we know could make us lose our footing and start to slide back down. When we play teams we're expected to beat we seem to jog on the spot. Thankfully we've stretched the elasticity out of that belt and it hasn't got the power to pull us back down, and maybe these last two games will be a blessing in disguise. Without European games next season - no matter how painful that may seem now - a place in that top 4 is more achievable than ever.

Oh, and I fully expect us to beat Villa, and post: 'It's on!'

I just hope we don't lose any players as a result of not being in Europe.

Quote from Zola after the game: "The atmospere in the dressing room is fantastic. I'm going to get drunk tonight!"

It's only a point!!! They werent even that good.

Sunderland (H)
Shits (A)
Wigan Athletic (H)
Fulham (A)
Manchester City (H)

early, very early to celebrate.

It's never been easy being Blue has it? wouldn't swap it for owt though, when we batter villa it'll all look better....

Come on, have some compassion Spike, Zola's a smashing feller and he deserves a break.

Exactly. They were waiting for that eventual game that they "turn the corner" - We've been there before this season. That game was that for them. They'll be boosted when they get teams like Sunderland and Wigan turning up.

2 wins for them will keep them up.

Crying out for some pace. I think with pace their defence would have been run ragged. The hoof ball was to easy for them to defend imo.

Despite my half-pissed  remark about Ian Holloway thinking he'll lose Seamus Coleman when LB got injured (I know, LB is a LB and SC is a RB!) I think Seamus would have revelled in this game.

I do not care how well Distin has been showing, our strongest back four IMO is Baines, Hettinga, jagielka, Neville/Coleman. That is what it should be for every game, you styart at the back with your selection and work forward. In place of Hettinga in the middle Rodwell should be played, if he is not good enough now he never will be!!! (bit like the Rooney saga, Moyes kept using our best player as a sub).

Upfront none of them are good enough no matter who plays with whom and for me that is a priority not midfield.

Must admit again missed Arteta but also missing Fellaini so he will be back next season therefore we do not need another midfielder.

Heitinga is class as the DM, gives the midfielders more freedom as Rodwell needs help from time to time when he plays in that position.

Moyes has plenty to put at the back with Jags - Yobo, Senderos, Distin - and uses Distin. If he's gash, through Yobo in. But Johnny is doing great as the DM until Fellaini come back
