OK, I know I keep coming up with stories like this but....
I was having a full English in a cafe in Bexley (Kent - Charlton the nearest team) yesterday and got talking about football to a feller at the next table (who looked like he was no stranger to the full-E himself!). When I mentioned I supported Everton he told me Tim Cahill is a good friend of his and he's been to his house in Alderly Edge (probably where he does live, too) and occasionally gets tickets off our Tim. I assumed he was a Millwall fan but it turns out he's a Hammer, yet he didn't realize who The Hammers' next game was against! Mind you, I know a lot of 'supporters' who have no idea who their team's next opponents are. I suppose when you're at the wrong end of the table you don't care much anyway.
Not true at all. At the bottom, every game counts...
And gets dissected even more. Unless you're trying to ignore reality, which may be the case for some Hammer types.
Expect a tight, scrappy game.
2-1 Everton.
