Apologies if mentioned elsewhere, but I have a feeling that this is the longest standing fixture in top flight footy so a lot of water has passed under the bridge for these clubs. When I think of Villa I remember the picture of Derek Dougan coming out of the Highbury tunnel in my Charles Buchan footy book.
Good that the theme on here is uncertainty because I think they were taken too lightly when they gave our neighbours a thumping. Even without us freshening the squad I would hope we will be too strong. Just win please as I think we have a difficult few months ahead......

yes mate its the most played fixture in the top flight (home and away like) and i think villa are 2nd behind us for the most seasons spent in the top flight (6 seasons behind i think) so a lot of history in this fixture!

Usually a good transfer window is what kick starts our season in January.
without this, our wheels are gonna come off.

I used to love Tony Daley for them. Always wanted us to get him.

Anyway, I always predict us to win 8-0. And one day we will. One day...
 
An absolute must win for us this. So important. We have some tough games away from home coming up and we need to set up our travels with a win in this game. With 14 games to go, stupid draws like we were having earlier in the season just cannot happen if we want to sustain our position. Gibson being back is a boost. Lets hope we keep everyone fit for rest of season.
 

I think this one is a snake in the grass.

We underestimate them, our players fanny about and who ever plays of Victor or Jelavic miss a couple of clear chances.

Before we know it´s the 70th minute and you can feel the crowd tense up which makes the players even more jittery.


Also think about this: We can´t keep clean sheets against any team so we´ll need to score twice against Villa. Scoring twice when your strikers aren´t producing isn´t a cake walk.

Good read as ever chico mate,I am going to stick with the Tried and Trusted usual 2-1 Everton win seems as our last 6 league wins have ended that score-everybody knows the drill against villa how the game usually pans out IE we batter them the whole game only to somehow not win-anyway i hope for a win as ever,hopefully with the added bonus of score's going our way this weekend,like in midweek.
