Everton Agree Fee With Man Utd For Lukaku

Dave. This is categorical nonsense.

Time will prove us right just like it did when you claimed Randy Lerner was the best chairman in the league.

I will lay money down we will have a higher goalscorer and better player than Lukaku up front for us within two years.

Not at all worried. Positively the opposite.

Things have changed. We rinsed United here. Rinsed them. Everton already have a load of players in with more to come.

We won't have a higher goalscorer than Lukaku for good half a decade.

But we'll probably have a better player inside a week.

I'm not disputing we have £90M from this, but it's a £75M upfront payment + a promissory note based on some unspecified trigger point.

We put up with that from United over Rooney. At least that United team back then had the success to make the promissory note come good.

Everton have been done up like a kipper again by an OT mugging party. It's Kenwright crying in Ferguson's office all over again.

Are you saying here that Rom is worth more than £90M? Just checking to make sure I don't misinterpret your position.

Else your position is that the Glazers are offloading their Rooney problem onto us, and will not pony up the additional dosh due to their own financial failure. This would mean that you ARE disputing we have £90M from this...

Normally I'd let it go, but I told that guy who drove me here on the turnip truck that I could cipher just fine, and I'm determined to prove it.

Blue tinted specs off for a moment he could make them genuine title contenders. Yes, he doesn't always show up against the big teams but when you consider the amount of point Utd lost at home last season to teams below them in the league... Those are the teams Rom can be lethal against. that said with us everything was centred around and went through him... that might not be the case at United so theres no guarantee he'll score the number of goals for them he did for us. United fans aren't mugs (well....) and they'll quickly see his faults if he isn't scoring

Not even close, they've been sold a solution to Zlatan leaving but he is the near opposite - a flat track bully who goes missing in the big games and can't hold play up to bring others into play effectively. We on the other hand have got a good return on an incomplete striker. What are Kane and Aguero worth in your world?

not true, his stats against big teams match up to the best

To be fair I think Rom will end up doing very well for them IF they change the way they play and play purely to his strengths. Can't imagine they'll try and use him exactly as they did Zlatan. Pretty sure Mourinho will have seen everything we all see as Rom's weaknesses... no different to if we happened to replace Rom with Giroud, it would mean adapting to suit his strengths...
The money we're supposedly going to get for Rom though is probably about right (with the addons mentioned). Kane is probably the only "£100m striker". He looks to have the complete game. Surprised Man U haven't gone all out with a world record bid for him instead.

Yeah gutted hes gone, was a great player of us to be fair to him he gave us four seasons and he scored a shed load of goals and we have made an almost 200% profit on him, to be fair we gave him the platform.

All in all, he contributed hugely and was a good servant, i know many felt he was disloyal but he was always upfront about it, you cant argue with that. He set an expectation that we couldn't meet (yet).

how many penalties a season will he miss?
I'm looking forward to seeing him not chase all those long balls

good riddance to a bad toffee
And there is the issue with rom.

Perhaps if we hit less long balls to him and created more he would have scored more?

Perhaps it is a sign of how much we bottled big games as a whole that we hit long balls to him in the first place? I mean it wasn't the odd one that we needed him to get, it would be over and over again with no-one 40 yards of him on the pitch.

And they wonder why he never scored more in 'big games'

Top finisher but by no means a top player, I think it's fair to say we've pulled their pants down here. Effectively £90m due to the easy clauses to hit, and Rooney on a free. I've no doubt he'll score 25 for them though.

Exciting times to be a blue these.
