File under "more smoking guns without any smoke".

Nothing to see here. As stated in one of those posts, Lukaku is "worth £75M and more".

Only thing I got wrong there was the belief that it'd only get above £75M if the trade was between two elite clubs.

*sigh*

You're heads melting Dave, go and have a lie down

£100m or £90m plus Rooney for a player who can't consistently control a football. Utter madness.

We've done well with Rom, credit due to Roberto and Bill for bringing him in and for Koeman and his team for taking his game to the next level.

Blinder from whoever has struck this deal though.

It's a shame he's a tit otherwise I'd wish him well. Always enjoy when Felliani has a good game.

Good business for us I think. He will score 20+ goals for MU but they will be against the clubs in bottom half of table in games you are already winning. He will only score a couple in total against top 7 and in cups. When you really need him he won't come through.

How did the club use the media against Lukaku, dare I ask? Around the time his new contract was being discussed the only media coming out was from his douchebag agent (99.9%) which Lukaku himself then squashed.
The club briefed the media on the state of play in the talks.

Actually that might work out just fine for United. They draw every home game against bottom half teams 0-0 or 1-1 it seems these days.

Didn't Raiola do that though, he came out and said the deal was 99.9% done, we only found out the deal was a dead duck when Lukaku questioned the ambition of the club. Lukaku would have been within his rights to question our ambition in September of last year after an underwhelming transfer window, but not after a good January and I'm sure come September this year, we're all going to happy with the state of the club.

If we are happy with the squad come September it'll be in no small part due to the spending that the Lukaku deal has allowed to happen.
