£75m is still a good return from a purely business sense, considering last summer we convinced him to stay for another season and his estimated fee then would have been £50-£55m.

He was never going to fetch £100m. Rooney the other way is a nice sweetener.

Lukaku made it clear we were only a stepping stone. Whatever you think, a move from us to United IS a step up, particularly in terms of money. Hopefully we can get a 20 goal striker in to replace him, 'cos Rooney won't score double figures for us next season.

True but we were in roughly the same position before he got here, whilst he was here and probably afterwards too.

I think the thing we will miss is his potential with the new players we have got. He could have been brilliant being fed all the time by the new players.

we haven't sold low for a while so i doubt we have now. There will be add-ons. The key i imagine for United and us was to get this done quickly so as not to create a saga.
He joins a team very much like him - talks a big game but not quite as good as they think they are.
I'll miss his goals but not him. He's earned the right to play CL though and he'll get that. It'll be interesting to see how he gets on against the best out there.
