He’s just the very best. I’m sure some of them know what he’s doing and still end up raging and never ever pinning him down. He should be premium content you have to subscribe for, it’s been a privilege to witness his journey on here.

I won't hear a single word against him.

Dave knows who the good guys are, and who are the bad guys. ?

My mate was born in 1963, so it must have been after that. I assume it was the late 60's. I'll ask him tomorrow, if I remember.

He still goes down to Goodison now and again with his son. I think he said he was going down again later in the season, but I may be getting mixed up there.
Of course mate and I do hope you can see my earlier comments in context in that we get a hell of a lot of Celtic/Rangers fans desperately trying to attach themselves to us, and their religious views as well.

Think he was vilified for being a slimy little sex danger reptile tbh.

I wasn't actually being serious, Jimmy. ?

Having said that, though I admit I don't know too much about the case, you can't rule out the possibility the charges against him were trumped up, not Trumped up though.

You probably don't release US secrets and just walk away from it completely unscathed.

But I've been on here two years now. Surely at least one dodgy religious comment would have sneaked out in that time if I were in any way a bigot?

As I said, I haven't even noticed a sectarian comment from the Rangers fans on here. I think the guy who said I was fighting a hundred year religious war is an Evertonian. I admit I'm an old dude, but I thought being over a hundred was stretching things a tad too far.

Seen an interesting debate in another thread about this topic. My view is that they do not go together but I respect some of you may hold some strong views otherwise.

I made this civil thread to help maintain the peace as per Moderator request.
Total myth our club originated from St Domingo's Methodist church changing its name to Everton - the area back then had all mixes of religion ......
Bootle was our Derby rivals - LFC never existed ......the rest is history -
I have read many books on our birth as a football club not one mentioned us ever as any religious team other than the church we started off as.......a cricket team that took up football......

John Holding the Brewery Magnet of the era then funded us to find a ground after twofailures we rented Anfield of him - he got greedy hiking the rent X 3
Hence we moved to a vacant piece of land by Goodison road it was a disused Market Garden Mere garden.....

The Directors who funded it built a top notch Stadium - Goodison park .....

John Holding tried to pinch our name - the FA fortunately forbid him ......

A brief outline of the birth of our club other than us being a Methodist Church team originally - Our club Everyone FC were invited to join the new football League without attending the formation of the football League.......
