We should not be spending anything like half the fee on Mcarthy. That would be terrible business if we did that. Mcarthy should be valued, at a maximum of 33% of Fellaini.

Mate I don't want to spend the huge amount on McCarthy but the reality is Martinez rates him and will blow £10m plus on him. The signings Martinez had made so far were so predictable.

He's just as likely to break his leg playing against Liverpool for them as he is against Cardiff for us. One game for them shouldn't be a deal breaker if they want him that badly.

I think what he means is that United are so desperate for a big signing that they wouldn't run the risk of a leg break leaving them with sod all to sign and the window shutting.

Got a feeling Cleverley may be involved in any deal. Martinez was well impressed when he was on loan at he Latics.

Moyes was foaming over him when he was doing the England Scotland game the other day, UTD are short in the central positions can't see them operating a 1 in 1out system so late TBH

They've wanted him for about two weeks and he's continued to play though, as has Baines.

If he breaks his leg they can go and spunk money on somebody else, the contract obviously wouldn't be signed until post-match.

I think it is more a question of would we "risk" him breaking a leg tomorrow and the deal being called off and us without him for months.

Plus, would we want him playing tomorrow if his mind is elsewhere?

He will obviously do nothing to risk an injury to himself at this stage.

No, if a deal has been done then I wouldn't expect Fellaini to figure tomorrow at all

It will be clear tomoz where we are with fellaini. If he plays nothing agreed. If he doesn't then done deal IMO.

Was it just me or did he disappear very fast into the tunnel after the cup game?

He always does get off the field quick.

Surely he himself would refuse to play if it meant missing out on a definite transfer due to injury.

If the deal was agreed, he will be on his way back

If the deal will be agreed on deadline day and few hours later he is holding United's top, then questions should be asked about the personal term, Fellaini is not a player playing in a poor European league who is on 15K per week and will come to England running, he is already on 75K, a move to United means a lucrative contract, something that takes time to agree

i dont think it would take that long to be honest. they'd know what hes after now and moyes wouldnt be involved in those negotiations to hold it up.

I would take 25 million for Fellaini now to be honest. He wants away, but please don't waste anything approaching 50% of it on Mcarthy.

I don't think it is very smart to sell the most hight profile player now. With NBC picking up the broadcasting rights in the states, adding their sports channel to broadcast more games, and really pushing this product, the premiership is getting more exposure over here than ever. We get pretty regular highlights (at least of high profile matchups ) on ESPN these days...unheard of 2-3 years ago.

I suspect there is money to be made developing the fan base abroad, and losing a guy like Fellaini is not the way to do it. I saw somewhere that the most popular teams in the states are Tottenham (1) (because of Dempseys stay there, I assume) and Man U (2). I'll be honest, Fellaini and Baines are the main reason why I started following Everton. I just think he may be worth more than the transfer fee over the next few years of his contract. Very recognizable and fun as hell to watch.
