...I don't want the reds to win the title, I really, really don't. Where I had no hope on Sunday morning, I have hope now. Being honest, I don't want that situation to change come Saturday evening.

I think Sunday was the game changer for a lot of us.

On Sunday morning we were resigned to it..had accepted the inevitable.

I even posted on here that I had begun the moving on process.

Then Gerard slipped...and suddenly salvation was at hand.

When Willian sealed it we felt like a brand new day was dawning.

I will now state categorically that whilst I won't root against the Blues on Saturday nor cheer if Citeh score, I shall have a little holiday in my heart if we lose and it stops the new dark age being ushered in.

And if we miss out on the EL?

Well, there worse things than EFC not being in the Europa League.

And that shower being Champions is one of them.

hi guys city fan here in peace, hope you dont mind me dropping in unannounced, fascinating thread we were in a very similar situation to you around 92 when if we beat leeds it would have virtually handed the title to united, we did win that game 4-1 however united blew it on the last day, i wanted us to lose and remember getting back to the pub after the game thinking wtf have we done its really not a nice feeling, anyway on to sat and i must admit i'm not looking forward to this one, being from the older generation of fans i cant lose that city self destruction tag that we had, it could go either way on the day but im sure it will be a cracking game,i can see me locking myself in the garden shed for the 90 minutes then having a peep on flash scores, enjoy the rest of the season chaps and if you dont make the CL im sure you will next season
COME ON CITY!

Don't see the problem really. I suspect most people acting really appalled at the idea of wanting City to win don't live in the city itself. It will be horrible living in the city for the next year with those cretins being able to call themselves champions.

If we were still fighting for fourth I'd have no decision to make -- I'd want us to win 100%. But a point against Hull will get us Europa league, and there is no chance we can move up the table, so why the hell would I want us to get a near-meaningless 3 points if it meant handing them the title?

its gonna be a strange day Marco.....its a fine mess we've gotten ourselves into....ever the optimist i still think we have a very slight outside chance of us getting 4th....one thing though, the pressure of the top 4 race is now gone for us, and no team plays better when the pressure is off as the underdog.....

we have a few injuries (distin, pienaar, mirallas, traore, possibly Jagielka...along with Barry).....which obviously weakens us, but we still have a decent 11....

in an ideal world, we win, and Liverpool lose at palace, so ye can still win the league and maybe we can take advantage of an unlikely arsenal slip up.....

if ye do beat us, ye best not mess up in your other 2 games!!.....Good luck to ye...

But the thing is a lot of the people that want City to win are from Liverpool, it's not only the "outsiders".

Plus I live in Glasgow and see full-kit [Poor language removed] nearly every day ffs!

Of course, 99% of Liverpool fans don't even know where Liverpool is. But when half of your mates are gloating RS, that think they're the best team in the world when they finish 7th, what hope do you have if they actually win the title? We will never hear the end of it.

Regardless of what bit of rock you walk on, the media coverage alone will ensure no one is safe. The deep-rooted RS contingent in the media have been waiting for this day, and they will shower them with spunk 24/7.

I cannot live in that world.

I do worry about our ability to choke for this match. I hope none of the players have this weird sense of pride about maintaining a fantastic home record and beating yet another team above us at home.
Bloody vainglorious if you ask me.

I hope our players get told to do the right thing
