I do worry about our ability to choke for this match. I hope none of the players have this weird sense of pride about maintaining a fantastic home record and beating yet another team above us at home.
Bloody vainglorious if you ask me.

But that's exactly what Bobby will expect the players to do - I hope!

But couldn't beat CP, its will just be typical to win an unimportant game.

Most Evertonians I have spoken to are N/A about losing the Citeh game.

It was just a band of diehard out and out bitter blues wanted a Citeh win before we went to Saints...became quite a rockfall after Chelsea went the Pit on Sunday...and is now an avalanche after the Barcodes last night.

Everyone I have spoken to today wants a Citeh win.

Barring the kind of miracle which doesn't seem to happen to Everton we have no shot at fourth.

That said ... we need fifth. It's obviously not nearly as good as fourth but it means less extra games for Europa and more prize money (which for a club that once went two years without buying a player can make a difference).

So I want to beat City. 100%. I don't want the RS to win the league but I can't not want Everton to win. It's impossible. I also hate City a lot. I have no mixed feelings about this. When we win I will hate it down to my very core -- it will be hideous ... but I 100% want us to win regardless because it's Everton. I just can't not want us to win.

I know that's not really the kind of thing the lurking RAWKers want to copy and paste into the Everton thread over there so as a further show of goodwill here is some insane forum nonsense you can use to get people there all riled up about how evil we are:

Barkley is already five times better than Gerrard.

I would rather finish 16th with the RS 17th than finish fourth with the RS first.

If Ryan Ledson played as a striker he'd be at least as good as Suarez in his first year.

Does anyone have a Man City kit I could borrow for the weekend? Full kits only please.

Next year is OUR year!

hi guys city fan here in peace, hope you dont mind me dropping in unannounced, fascinating thread we were in a very similar situation to you around 92 when if we beat leeds it would have virtually handed the title to united, we did win that game 4-1 however united blew it on the last day, i wanted us to lose and remember getting back to the pub after the game thinking wtf have we done its really not a nice feeling, anyway on to sat and i must admit i'm not looking forward to this one, being from the older generation of fans i cant lose that city self destruction tag that we had, it could go either way on the day but im sure it will be a cracking game,i can see me locking myself in the garden shed for the 90 minutes then having a peep on flash scores, enjoy the rest of the season chaps and if you dont make the CL im sure you will next season

Mate, Arsenal wrapping up 4th means it's nailed on we'll score a spawny early one and hang on. Despite you throwing the kitchen sink hitting the post 4 times with 2 stonewall pens denied I can see us turning you over. The Goodison faithful will watch in boggle eyed disbelief not knowing whether to laugh or cry cos we all know what that means.

I hope you win the title because it will decimate the anfield rodents but christ you choke worse than a Moyes team (and we should know) and I'm not convinced if you beat us you'll do the necessary in the remaining games but here's hoping.

You need to man up as a club. This will prove if you really have the minerals and guarantee the never ending gratitude of all toffees and most of the free world if you prevent the shtehawks winning it. The media have already written eulogies and proclamations in preparation of the red title win - ram their words up their craven holes.

C'mon City.

To those attending: whatever happens please don't cheer ... even ironically ... if Man City score. We have to at least be better than that.

Of course, 99% of Liverpool fans don't even know where Liverpool is. But when half of your mates are gloating RS, that think they're the best team in the world when they finish 7th, what hope do you have if they actually win the title? We will never hear the end of it.

Regardless of what bit of rock you walk on, the media coverage alone will ensure no one is safe. The deep-rooted RS contingent in the media have been waiting for this day, and they will shower them with spunk 24/7.

I cannot live in that world.
Right about the media, that.

Also half the people I know ARE RS fans! Even the Bulgarians are insufferable when they finished below us, can't really bare with going home this summer and every single on of them gloating!

Same here.

The thought that we could win a game that ultimately means nothing to us in the context of our season, but has the direct impact of handing them the Holy Grail on a silver platter, makes me want to hurl.

It was different before any chance of 4th was taken away from us at the Emirates last night. But now it's an absolute no brainer. We need to lose the game on Saturday.

Don't think Bobby or the lads will go out giving less than 100% for us...I won't be cheering if City score and will be hoping that we can win. But if we lose it won't hurt as much as it usually does...I've had to put up with the RS for the best part of 50 years watching and supporting the Blues. Believe me having to put up with all the title wins and European cups never has been easy...yes it was great during the 60s and 80s when we were winning stuff ourselves
but then something changed post Heysel - also Man U started winning titles and the so called best fans in the world just couldn't take it... so I will always shout for my team regardless but if we do lose on Sat a little part of me just won't be arsed....kopites are gobshites and always have been

The players will know what the majority of fans think even if Martinez wants them to go all out for the win.

Subconsciously that surely should play on their minds

I will just do a few high fives .with a big smile and thinking about all them R/S blubbering and spitting and calling us all the names under the Sun, yes think I am going to enjoy it ,
