As part of our agreement with the Clubs legal team, we're required to remind you all to refrain from using the Everton crest on GrandOldTeam.

We're not allowed to have it displayed anywhere on the website;

Our client has highlighted Player/Match Action Images, Club Crests and Fixtures among the posts and as member’s avatar’s in your forum http://www.grandoldteam.com/forum

I understand that due to the huge number of posts the tracking and removing of infringing images would prove difficult and very time consuming to perform.

A suggestion I have made with other football forums, is that when you do come across new images please take steps to remove them, but I would be grateful if you could routinely post a message to members warning them of the issues in question.

Thanks everyone.

Freedom is slavery

Ignorance is strength
No Everton Crests on an Everton Forum.(y)

Proper sad and wrong you would think the had bigger things to worry about

Absolute lunacy.

I understand preventing a site owner using Everton emblems on the site for obvious reasons. But forum users... I don't understand that really.

It is bizarre, considering you'd think Everton would promote brand awareness via any means necessary rather than subduing generally non-profit, pro-club websites like this. Especially considering the routine plugs for the OS that GOT does without prompting on the front page and Facebook.

As the poster above says, Everton have much, much bigger things to worry about!

Not having a go here - and i understand the reasons for it - but you would think the club would realise the marketing oppurtunity on forums reall - instead of being so militant about this stuff.

Why not say you can post the crest etc - if from time to time you - plug season tickets/half price season tickets - Deals @everton direct etc.

Like i say im not having a go but i went on to Everton Direct today and their are some super deals on ther presently, i wouldnt have known only by chance i stumbled on them, im sure with a bit of understanding between forums and the club - both parties would benifit.

Im in two minds now wheather to get that stuff on Everton direct after reading that.

What if we put the crest on backwards ? ELO used a still from the Wizard of Oz for the cover of their Eldorado album. It is the picture of the witch trying to get the red shoes . It was put on reversed to get around the copyright

Ross and co. have never been PR superstars - so I'm almost surreally unsurprised by this post.

As I say, if this website was called www.evertonsofficialwebsite.com and sold knock off shirts with the Everton crest on, I'd understand it. As it is, I really, really can't understand the logic behind this message.

Feck it - "WE LOVE YOU MERSEYSIDE BLUE, WE DO! OHHHH MERSEYSIDE BLUE WE LOVE YOU!"

Still PMSL thinking about the club telling that Everon vendor he couldn't use 'The People's Club' anymore on his merchandise...when the feller had already trademarked it.

I wonder if the salaries and resources of everyone employed by the team to search through forums for free use material like club crests could instead be spent on player wages. Fuming here, I'm usually sympathetic to the board (certainly Moreso than many on here) but this is an absurd policy. And honestly I don't think they have the authority to even do it (since the site disclaimer makes it clear tahr views expressed on the site are not those of the club).

Club supporters should have the right to display their support for the club with pride. If I take a picture of the badge on one of my kits and post that, will that violate their policy, and do I need to blur it out on pictures of me wearing the kit? Absolute insanity
