Never into the getting off early stuff like but can understand the booing ( at times like not every week!!) it's like paying money to watch your favourite band and they stand there singing like they absolutely can't be arsed and are total [Poor language removed], do you stand there and clap and cheer and say BUT I LOVE DEM SO I WILL CONTINUE T CLAP, would you [Poor language removed] you'd boo, end of the day of the players run round the full game and get stuck and give 100% you can take losing, but when you've got a team like we have making mistakes every single game, getting beat or not winning against teams every week we SHOULD be then it's obviously going to wind fans up, tackles/shots/saves aggression from players create atmosphere not mistakes backward passing ettc

So to cap I have no idea what I am talking about so boo me off this forum Booooo

Our fans are exactly the same as everyone else's. We don't like losing and being outplayed at home and get frustrated. Every club is the same it's just some such as palace and leicester for example have a bunch of pricks doing contrived small time chanting non stop which some seem to think constitutes a good atmosphere.

Being from NI, only atmosphere I've ever come across where the moaners aren't in the majority is at Windsor Park, and that's cause we know we are woeful lol. Even the local semi pro league has some of the moaniest followings you could ever imagine lol.

It's quite simple. Winning team = happy fans.

I think this fella is one of the bunch.

Not sure about the 'under 30s' thing. Opposite way with me

Back in those days I'd be there massively willing every cross and shot to find its target in a windswept midweek mid-table game against Norwich

Now I'm in me 50s, I'm jaded and cynical and just like to complain. Not just about the footy, mind. Everything. :)

I tend to agree over the Stone incident, I think most of us didn't want to lose to another late goal

But it has to be said that some of the abuse Barkley has received in the past has been appalling
My concern is when did Evertonians think we deserve to win something, this type of attitude was never part of us even in the trophy winning days of the mid 80's.
We have a new breed in our fanbase
They are the self entitled playstation and internet generation. Expect everything as a given... poor attitude to life in general tbh.

I always thought you needed to earn your rewards, not have them served up on a silver platter

Just came on the site looking for some info re wednesday night, l'm a City fan and thought I'd give you an opion from the outside. I've been visiting Goodison since I was a kid inthe 60's, l'm now retired so the expense stops me seeing many away games now, but I always try to make the trip to Everton , but never go to Anfield , and that is simply down to yourselves, in general ,knowledgable and passionate with a good sense of humour (always seemed to be laughing when you were attacking us in the 70's & 80's). Football fans have always been volatile, the cushions used to fly from the stands at Goodison on a bad day, but todays fans in the main lack the passion of their fathers. I don't think fans of Everton today are any different from the fans of any other club, we all have our moaners, cynics, late comers, early leavers, the ones who need to be fed & watered every 10 minutes ,the ones who spend 85 minutes looking at a phone etc etc.Anyway I think your a decent bunch, see you Wednesday, good luck & good health for the new year!

You're the same as fans at Old Trafford, Anfield... and you see this as positive? Why the need to belittle fans making a good atmosphere. What is your idea of an atmosphere then?

Reactive support. Instinctive support that you get at places like goodison. It's not non stop but it's more intimidating that way imo. Give me a deafening roar above that tedious ''and that's the way we like it wooooooahhhhhhh'' crap. And don't get me started on music after goals too!!! It's hard to explain but I hope some get what i mean.

When Goodison needs to be raucous it is. In terms of anfield and old trafford? I really couldn't care less. Our support is one of the best around. But we like a good moan as much as the next man too lol

Don't worry about it mate, quite a few of our so called supporters think giving grief to our players is a good atmosphere.

I'm quite confident our players would prefer to play in front of your fans than our lot at the moment.
