Well, considering my mum was like, 3 and my dad was about 7, not much chance there. I still wasn't even a twinkle in my dads eye yet :P

Hats off to you Danny, well spotted.(y)

It was a defining match. I remember Andy Rankin, he was the Wrongy of his day, never a dull moment when he was in goal, unfortunately.

When I first started watching the Blues the inspiration on the park was always Bobby Collins, he was smaller than our Bruce but what a hard man. It was such a shame to see this little hero come back to GP, and he was given a huge welcome, for him to start kicking six kinds of crap out of his former team mates. That tactic was one hundred per cent Revie. That prick used to give his players dossiers to study about men who would be marking them or men they had to mark. If no weakness could be found, kick [Poor language removed] out of the opponent was always the answer, and kick they did. Leeds would have been deemed far to violent for the WWE, and that is no exaggeration

Danny, if it causes a problem delete my posts. I did find the report when I was researching Roy Vernon. I though that many of the younger fans like on here should now a bit of our history and this was a landmark game.

Still looking up Roy Vernon, as a striker in modern terms he would be in the 20/30 mill class.

and more, the Ffynngroewer(apologies to our welsh friends) express was as good a striker GP has ever seen, a part from one and even the great Dixie thought he was brilliant. How many players would have a fag before after and three at half time:lol:

I knew about that Monty, also he liked his drink but he still played unlike that bleeding waster on our books now. I do know that Roy and Alex liked to go to the Oddspot Club (I think) in Bold Street where they often met up with Ian St John, Roger Hunt or Callaghan.

Funny thing is there is little and I mean little mention of him on Wiki.

Thats right Robert, I find it hard to understand why anyone would want to offer support to that blob knowing what others got paid as heroes before him, he is a disgrace mate(y)
