Everton in Training at Finch Farm

Whenever I watch these vids I'm always surprised at the lack of any intensity.

These are supposed to be elite level sportsmen in training, yet it all seems so casual.

Every other sport puts out training sessions that look difficult. Finch farm looks like a kick about in the park.
If they dont hide the real work, you see right there why Everton is total crap. Its a hobby team now managed by an hobby farmer!

I've never been a fan of the drill where you all stand in a circle passing, while two defenders charge around inside the circle closing you down as you pass it around. For me it tells you that whilst in possession your fine to stand around motionless, not needing to find any space or have awareness around you, to just pass sideways to some other poor shmuk to get closed down.
It translates to our match performances, where we do just that.
Literally every team in the world does that. There's videos of top teams/players all over youtube doing it.

All this thread (and most of them tbf) has told me is:
1) most ppl know nothing.
2) training videos mean nothing.

I think that drill is more for the benefit of the players in the middle than those on the outside, although I suppose it's a passing exercise for them too. Either way there must be something more engaging for all

Does anybody watch these videos? I do but that's because I clearly have nothing of any worth in my life.

What always strikes me every week is just how poor the players are in the technical drills. It might be because they're knackered from the multitude of shuttle run exercises, but when you watch any other teams train, they play quick and exciting football-based games and they all love it. All I see is our first team grinding out scrappy 0-0s in training matches looking like they can hear the boos already.

What I'm saying is, it's no wonder we're sh*te.

Making me so angry, had to stop watching.

They meander out looking half arsed, and covered in 23 layers, even in August.

You don't wanna show the opposition to much,Kind Sir.

Bugger that!

I want to see a Rocky style training montage with inspirational music.

Come on Sean, give the fc'kers a good beasting!
In all seriousness they shouldn't be getting out of a jog in training, by and large - it should be completely de-loaded. Then on Saturday they need to play with furious, infernal intensity.

You can't be training like animals these days, recipe for a crocked team.

Looks like we're halfway there with the easy training. Missing the intense bit on Saturday.
