Everton January 2022 Transfer Thread

Always had the sneaking suspicion with Dele Alli that a good deal of his form and confidence was propped up by the magic of Christian Eriksen.

Maybe a gamble to consider if the price is right but from Levy that isn't going to happen - swerve.

No. I just want the truth. This forum and the ground also are awash with rumours and hear say, most of which are detrimental to the club, board manager etc.

Things are bad enough without self fuelling stories that become fact being bandied about without foundation. Now, I am not saying what you are talking about is not true, I am asking for it to be verified in some way, it is the least we should expect before quoting it and it growing into more toxic anti-everton guff.
You didn’t believe everyone saying that we had no money in the summer. Adamant that we’d spend more than the £1.4m until the very last day.

Sometimes you just have to hold your hand up and admit the club is a shambles and there’s no smoke without fire.

Any chance we can chop posters who think real life works like a computer game, were you can just click a few buttons and clear your dross?!?...

Can't sell players that don't want to leave or have no clubs trying to buy them.
But I expect the powers-that-be to do their utmost to clear them out, make them as attractive to prospective buyers as to make them leave and clear our ffp trouble. How the hell are we gonna buy declan rice otherwise?

Ok enough about incoming players.

Lets talk about the players that need to go to the choppa. CHOP CHOP TIME!!

CHOPCHOP Pickford and your [Poor language removed] hysterics. Its you that gives our defence the shits. [Poor language removed] off

CHOPCHOP Iwobi. Nice guy, and Iwboi type player without the skills. CHOPCHOP!

CHOPCHOP Keane! Just [Poor language removed] OFF!

CHOPCHOP Holgate!! NO! JUST NO!! NOT GOOD ENUF!!

CHOPCHOP TOM DAVIES!! GO! JUST GO!!

CHOPCHOP
It could be the other way round of course, the defence gives him the same vibe we all get when they are tested, someone said it yesterday, its like someone threw a hand grenade in!! So apart from Pickford, yes spot on!

Chop Chop!

These deals are on the weird side, perhaps they are indictive of what is wrong at Everton and recruitment, a number of different fiefdoms all feeding into recruitment, the Josh King deal last year was weird too - Ancelotti looked like he had zero interest in him.

So we potentially have our manager falling out with our best players and selling them below market vale & our owner doing a solo run on recruitment based on youtube clips given to him by his agent pal. What could go wrong.

Sad thing is we've learned absolutely nothing from the mess we've made of things.

The only hope for us for the rest of the season is trying to hoover up points and get safe - its a write off & i think we are making things worse in the window, then they were when we went into it, we're a hazard to ourselves.
In what way was Digne sold below market value exactly? Italian clubs only wanted loans with no buy, Chelsea wanted cheaper alternatives, the other teams didn't match villas offer besides Newcastle.

We set a price and pretty much everyone went nah and walked away.

I'd say that reflects what he's worth

On loan it could be a good move for all parties. There's a player in there but he needs something to kick start his career again and like Jesse Lingard last season maybe a move where he can be a "big fish" as such, might get the best out of him. It's the sort of move Moyes excelled at. Finding a clearly talented player who's lost his way and who has a point to prove and i think Dele Alli is now in that camp.
I get your point, maybe a loan move might work, but I suspect it would go the same way as the Lingard situation: he might have a superb few months, get the spark back, and then go back to his parent club and put his feet up for another year.

If playing football was truly the most important thing to Lingard, he could have forced the move / paid up his last year / demanded a transfer (I doubt United would have stood in his way). But he didn't. He was happy to pick up his big wages (perhaps more than WH would have paid him), sit on the bench and stay comfortable in his house and the cushy environment he's been used to for years.

I could see Deli Alli doing the exact same thing.

Fair point, lets keep Pickford but the rest: OUT!!! And pretty please, this month thanks Moshiri, thank you.

100%. I said we would sign players, we failed with Dumfries and Diaz, we did try though. I held my hands up next day and said I was wrong.

I know the club is f****** but it does not need people making stuff up, which just exacerbates the issue

I love reading rumours, I do not however use them as a reason to fume relentlessly about the club, board or manager. People need to wait before getting abusive and drinking bleach.

People are inventing scenarios that haven’t happened yet and then fuming about them.

Apparently we’ve already forced out Richarlison Allan and Mina, and with the money bought Longstaff, oh and DCL must have got injured because Rondon is also starting in these scenarios.

You were given them by @ZissouBlue but chose to reply to every post in this thread except for that one.
I didnt actually see it, there was a flurry of yellow love notes on my feed. I will read it and give t the benefit of the doubt. You have me wrong here, I am not trying to absolve the club or mosh from blame, I just like to take a pragmatic approach and not jump on any bandwagons

So you believe the rumours that we bid for Dumfries and Diaz, but don’t believe the other rumours?

Do you not see the flaw here?

He is worth 30 mill in the Jan market and there was interest - he is one of our best players and we are weaker for losing him, for me he is easily worth 30 million to us and i would have kept him, until that valuation was met. Elsewise on market value we have Chris Wood going to Newcastle two years older for the same price in the market..... How do you know we set a price, we accepted a price that isn't the same as setting it, if 25 mill was our set price then we are brutal and negotiating.

Hes worth more and hes worth more to us.

Exactly. It is like a cancer, though. I read these things on here and the next day someone is quoting it in a different group.
