He is worth 30 mill in the Jan market and there was interest - he is one of our best players and we are weaker for losing him, for me he is easily worth 30 million to us and i would have kept him, until that valuation was met. Elsewise on market value we have Chris Wood going to Newcastle two years older for the same price in the market..... How do you know we set a price, we accepted a price that isn't the same as setting it, if 25 mill was our set price then we are brutal and negotiating.

Hes worth more and hes worth more to us.

Quoting what Newcastle paid for woods is ludicrous mate, one they need a striker desperately and are willing to massively overpay for it whilst weakening a direct rival.

If Digne is that much in demand why did zero teams match the apparently undervalued price

I get your point, maybe a loan move might work, but I suspect it would go the same way as the Lingard situation: he might have a superb few months, get the spark back, and then go back to his parent club and put his feet up for another year.

If playing football was truly the most important thing to Lingard, he could have forced the move / paid up his last year / demanded a transfer (I doubt United would have stood in his way). But he didn't. He was happy to pick up his big wages (perhaps more than WH would have paid him), sit on the bench and stay comfortable in his house and the cushy environment he's been used to for years.

I could see Deli Alli doing the exact same thing.
That is the worry. He could have a great 5 months and either plays his way to a big move elsewhere or goes back and fights for his place at Spurs.
Right now I'm just thinking short term and finishing as high as possible this season but I keep thinking back to players like Pienaar and Howard who came in, loved the club, felt indebted to Moyes and the club for rescuing their careers and would have run through walls for Everton but players are very different now.

I mean, if Mosh REALLY did sign Iwobi, you'd think he would not make the same mistake twice and sign a sub from a competitor, I mean he is a billionaire business man, unlikely he makes too many errors like this
He appears to be an idiot.

But El Ghazi is here so I'll support him. Let's hope he doesn't curtail Gordon's development. I've given up on Dobbin seeing any meaningful minutes.

I dont want to read them.I come on here for transfer news and it is awash with people crying about Longstaff since last summer!
If all you want is actual transfer news, stick to the official site and don't come to a forum which is a place for people to discuss rumours etc?

Everton do want Longstaff. They wanted him last summer. It seems logical that they'll go in for him again this window having already done it last week with a small bid. We'll see won't we.

Cos FSW told people he didn’t want him here?

I don't think it's unreasonable for people to expect us to try to sign him again. Until he signs a contract extension at Newcastle, it looks like he has no real future there. It's not a particularly unlikely rumour is it? That we would be trying to sign a player in the last few months of their current deal?
