Just going off past evidence, don’t think there’s been a single player come straight from an Eastern European league and step up to a big league straight away let alone the prem of the top of my head for as long as I can remember . Odds aren’t in the lads favour especially at our basket case of a club

Zinchenko at Citeh?

Neither were Brazilian starters when they moved (althought they did have a couple of caps). But your point was that you couldn't think of any players that had come from an Eastern European club that made the step up immediately. Both of them did
Both took a while to settle, maybe worded my original post wrong but Ukrainians/ Russians almost never make the step up has been the case over the last decade or two

It's depressing we are discussing selling Digne when there are so many others worth getting rid of before him
Not really, the other players have zero value. Digne is probably past his peak years but still has a decent value. This is exactly what we should do (and what Brands indicated his strategy would be, but never did it), buy sub 25 years old, sell circa. 30 years old whilst there is still residual value in the player and reinvest. We can’t keep holding onto players until they’re clapped out then moan about them being [Poor language removed] and no one being willing to take them off our hands. Players are an asset, the reason our finances are in a mess is the failure to convert any of our investments in players into a profit.

Ivanovic, Arshavinn and Vidic spring to mind.
Modric too if we're going former Eastern bloc.
