So swapping [Poor language removed] for [Poor language removed] for somewhere else? Got it.

Or... promote an academy product and not buy Longstaff.
Agree with this, and this is always my argument and why I was so against Rondon, Begovic and Lonergan. I`d much rather the youngsters take these places on the bench and playing when needed, as we seen against Chelsea how much pride do these youngsters have in playing for this club? Alot more than those journey men mentioned above who take up more wages.

AND how much pride do we have seeing youngsters play for our club?

I don’t think Longstaff is rubbish. United were sniffing round him at one point. Regardless I don’t think we’ll be after him anyway.

Some people will justify buying Longstaff (if we do).

Can't get a game for Newcastle who are bottom of the league. Hasn't for 2 seasons and is currently playing Sunday League in Scotland on loan.

This feller you mean?

You could literally name any midfielder in any league in the world and I’ve probably have him over Davies in his current form.

Sky sports news 'Rafael Benitez has predicted a big future for Longstaff'

He sticks with the game plan, he just isn't good / fit enough anymore.

He took a chance and it didn't work out. It did for Gray and Townsend.

What? The plan of not doing anything?

And there's a difference in taking a free and a £1.7 mill punt on a player and spending substantial amounts (18-20mill on a new fullback, 10-15mill for Longstaff) on replacements
