And they’ll be wrong about that too.Whenever Richarlison does go Eggs we'll have "He was overrated anyway" "he was never consistent" etc, etc from the Benitez acolytes.

To put it in perspective, he has several teenagers ahead of him now at Barcelona and they would almost certainly let him leave for nothing or on loan and subsidise the majority of his wages. Now that is a joke, no way could we afford his wages never mind transfer fee.
Thinking that myself. He can go straight into a CL clubs squad.….I never used to be this cynical, but I wouldn’t put anything past Benitez. I don’t believe Richarlison is injured, I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes in January.
We’d be paying him at least as much as we paid James, however much that was, makes a mockery of the claims that we had to get him out as we couldn’t afford him. I don’t think Coutinho is going to play any more frequently than James did and he’s certainly not a better player, I wonder if Benitez and the club were a little bit misleading about the James affair. To put it in perspective, he has several teenagers ahead of him now at Barcelona and they would almost certainly let him leave for nothing or on loan and subsidise the majority of his wages.
We look like the players met each other for the first the day before every game recently.
On the basis that Mykolenko has already replaced Digne, I reckon we will bring in another two this window, so it wont be an immediate big churn, a right back and a centre midfielder squad player is what has been suggested.I agree, but they are the stark facts. That is why I was looking at it. It is a minimum of four leaving in summer plus sales.
Siggy would have been a first team player. Delph and Kenny are first team fringe players. Mina and Richarlison are first team players.
The planning over the next two windows needs to be meticulous.
Incorrect. 2024.The contracts on Tosun, Siggurdsson, Delph and Kenny expire this summer. Tosun may leave in January. The others will probably leave in summer.
In 2023, the contracts of Mina, Richarlison, Allan, Davies, Coleman, Bergovic, Townsend, Nkounkou, Rondon and Broadhead expire.
Richarlison, Mina will probably be sold in summer. Allan probably should be sold while he has some value. Davies should be sold, but he may decide to see out his contract. Coleman, Bergovic, Rondon and Townsend will run their contracts out. Broadhead and Nkounkou may be kept? (We will need some depth).
So in summer 2022 we will potentially lose upto eight to ten players that would be classed as first team squad. Some of this is good news as they are surplus and a wage drain. Others will need replacing.
As a minimum, we will be looking for a right back to replace Coleman, a CB to replace Mina and a forward to replace Richarlison.
We may also need to replace Allan and with Delph, Siggurdsson and Davies all potentially leaving we will need one or two central midfielders.
There is also a possibility that we get a wildcard bid for DCL or Pickford, but we would face that challenge if it happens.
Either way, summer 2022 is a massively important window. It will point to the longer term strategy we are following and whether the next crop of academy players are being trusted, ie Simms, Broadhead, Gordon, Branthwaite, Dobbin, Onyango etc.
Has there been any talk about what Rondon is on here? I saw some stuff saying he was earning about 200 grand a week in China so I'm guessing his wages are quite substantial especially with no fee involved.

That would barely leave you with a team never mind a squad. On the basis that Mykolenko has already replaced Digne, I reckon we will bring in another two this window, so it wont be an immediate big churn, a right back and a centre midfielder squad player is what has been suggested.
So next summer, reckon this is what will happen (unless DCL/Richarlison is sold sooner)
Keepers- as is.
Defenders-
Coleman, Mykolenko, Nkounkou, Godfrey, Keane, Branthwaite + new right back in Jan.
Out- Holgate and Mina, In- new centre half.
Midfield-
Allan, Doucoure, +1 new player in Jan + Gomes/Davies
Out- Sigurdsson, Gomes, Gbamin, Delph, Davies.
Forwards-
Gray, Gordon, Townsend, Iwobi, Rondon.
Out- Iwobi, DCL and Richarlison, In- three attacking players
I suspect Calvert Lewin and Richarlison will both be sold in either January or the summer unfortunately, giving us a complete reset financially and giving Benitez a massive budget to bring in the players he wants... but I dont see more than 3-4 players per window to be honest.
A very good summary, thank youThe contracts on Tosun, Siggurdsson, Delph and Kenny expire this summer. Tosun may leave in January. The others will probably leave in summer.

I really cannot see anyone stumping up the 80mil or whatever we'd want….I never used to be this cynical, but I wouldn’t put anything past Benitez. I don’t believe Richarlison is injured, I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes in January.
We've been saying this for 4 years, and if you are honest, he isn't in the least bit consistent. Great on his day, bang average the restWhenever Richarlison does go Eggs we'll have "He was overrated anyway" "he was never consistent" etc, etc from the Benitez acolytes.
He was about to have his contract terminated, on poor form, unwanted, 31 and meant to be a bench warmer. He was never going to be on a big sumThought it would be more based on the figures i'd seen from China but then thought Begovic would be much less than that too so still not great between them.
Ah, how quickly you forget the old ways. All will be well. ?No, you're right. We can build as per Leicester's model though, younger players and develop them, and gradually build that way. And when we get closer to the top we should have the infrastructure, support base and owner to really have a go at the top positions, but there is no way we can buy ourselves out of midtable now.
