It was this bit I was laughing at in particular " bang average the rest" now I'll give you inconsistent, something I've said myself many times along with him being a terrible whinger, but even when he's not on it I wouldn't call him 'bang average' because he'll always put a shift in. Also, now I will apologise if I'm wrong but aren't you always defending Benitez?
I’m not pro-Benitez, I’m anti poison filled agenda.

Again, ridiculous. These players were good enough to be 2nd in the League this time last year so that argument that they aren't good enough doesn't hold water.

The fact of the matter is they aren't being coached well enough.

As for dangerous on the counter/scoring goals blah blah blah - I'm not sure what team you've been watching but for nearly this entire season it's certainly not 'Benitez's Everton'. 1 good half against Arsenal and hanging on against Chelsea certainly isn't anything to shout about.

Insert tears here *injuries/£1.7m
Whatever position this time last year doesn't mean much. Does it mean I should point out Everton was what, 4th 5th at the start of the season? There's no prize for "2nd place at some point during a season".

The last season ended in 10th place. Past few seasons all ended in mid table. Which means not good enough for Europe, not poor enough to be relegated aka mediocre. This season will probably have a similar finish. Everton is not a title chasing club being managed into a mid table club. It is a mid table club who has not strengthened relative to the competition this season and currently still a mid table club. When you think about it. Standing still while others move forward means the club actually moved backwards. Being able to remain in mid table would actually be managing during a season of rebuilding. We'll probably never agree so I'm just ending it here. Looking forward to middle fingers and laughing smileys.

And if they price us out then move on. Doesn't mean we shouldn't try to get someone if they are our main target.

Maitland Niles will cost an absolute fortune for someone who is clearly not in Arsenal's plans. I doubt they will loan him to us now if they wouldn't 4 months ago.
Why? They know we could do damage to their rivals for top 4 and they could *insist* he doesn't play against them.

I think he has 12months left on his deal next summer, not 100% on that. But thinking long term in say 18months. Kenny gone, Coleman 34. Nkounku not good enough. Under 23’s john and Anderson not good enough/gone. Delph, siggurdsson, Allan. Gone. Gomes sold? Gbamin who knows.

Getting in AMN for 15mil? Who can cover midfield and both full back positions, wouldn’t be a bad thing.
