Substitute apearances? No, just the ones covered on tv and the games he played for Scotland.

I've given my judgement based on that: decent getting forward; calamity in defence.

Let's see how he fares here. He has it all to do. We signed his predecessor for 60 grand and he handed us a decade's worth of good value. He costs a crazy £16M for a sub and would do well to achieve a quarter what Seamus has here....and I doubt Coleman will surrender his place too easily too. The lad's a fighter.
Maybe but he's a kid in football terms at 20. The defensive work is easier to develop than attacking ability and physical assets...

CB and CM needed now.

I reckon the manager will have to wait for the French Judas to be sold for that cash though...and I bet he agrees to a deal to leave about 24 hours before the end of the window.

...goalposts heard being moved.
They were good results but they are glamour games the players have raised themselves for in the past. This season when we are in the mire the key games, the six pointers are the teams around us Brighton, Burnley, Watford, Palace et Al. When the onus is on us to take the game, we can't because we don't control possession because Benitez sets up ultra defensively and he can't seemingly coach these players attacking patterns of play or how to defend set pieces.

Selective?

Were you happy against Spurs/ United/Arsenal/Chelsea?
Drawing at home to Spurs..? Yeah made up with that. Utd away was a good result.

Happy beating Arsenal? We’d D1 & L5 of the previous 6 games so not really. I’d rather we’d beaten and not lost 5-2 to Watford at home, 1-0 away at Brentford & 2-1 away at Wolves and relied on a wonder goal to beat Arsenal.

Chelsea was a great result given the squad we had available, but we were very lucky not to have conceded 3/4 more.

If it turns out as you comment then one can hardly blame Brands can one?

It's the same pattern we have seen over year's though but even worse the players raise themselves for some big games often because the onus isn't on us and we can play counter attack. In the past we got results reliably at home and sometimes away against a lot of the dross now we can't do that mostly in my view because of the manager's tactics... Points from the big games should be a bonus but you need a baseline of results elsewhere one win in twelve isn't it.
