I was pretty sceptical due to age and wage concerns but given the lack of both quality and leadership we have I’d be having serious talks with Ramsay. We desperately need midfield solutions for right now if we are getting out of this mess.

It’s a fair point, and yes it would be a risk. But our current fit midfield options take us down, as they neither protect the defence nor create chances. So we are going to have to get players with a bit of quality in the door fast.

They didnt give him one single minute of playing time last summer. I thought that was pretty harsh, but gives an indication where DCL is at.

The rags had stories for months how Carlo would 'get DCL to Real" but atm he prefers 50 year old Benzema, and didnt offer a penny for DCL.

Apparently we want a right back and a centre mid this month.

Centre mid is obvious and I agree with the right back being needed as well. Even if Patterson is instantly the 'real deal' if he is suspended/injured at all were back to Coleman/Kenny which is suicide.

I'd like to see us go for someone of similar age with high potential -- perhaps the boy Ramsay from Aberdeen.

Centre midfield: Guimaraes or Kamara would be my favoured choices.

Signing another right back this month would be absolutely crazy. That would give us 4 senior players who are out and out right backs, plus Holgate and Godfrey who can cover there. If Patterson wasn't able to come in and play this season then he shouldn't have been signed, we can't be wasting time and money getting in two right backs in January in the middle of a relegation battle.

wasn't with the England squad myself, so I can not tell you exactly what it was. Thinking back sure He had a foot injury.
