Everton January 2022 Transfer Thread

and in the real world, which manager sells 7 first team players and buys a bunch of kids?

Ive not advocated doing that. In fact ive already posted several times about extending players contracts.

However, what do you think happens next summer if Mina and Richarlison wont extend + a big bid comes in for DCL ?

You prefer us to spend the money on more rubbish 'proven' players? Not for me.

If we do sell then we shouldnt stop there and move on the dross as well.

No way he ends up at Spurs, if/when he goes
Just joining in on the speculating and hypothesising. Personally, couldn’t give a flying one where he goes if he leaves us. Not my role to determine what club is beneath him. More interested in getting the right value for him if he wants to leave and re-investing that money in quality replacement player(s).

I suspect that if we do bring in anyone in January it will be loans or more from the bargain bin. The manager has already hinted at this apparently...Allegedly ??

If we sold Keane, Holgate, Iwobi, Davies for £50-60mil then Richarlison, Mina and DCL were to go as well we'd be looking at £260-300mil.

Lets say we then spent that in building a young team in summers 2022 and 2023. By 2024 we would also be free of FFP issues and could spend another £200mil+.

Id rather we held onto the 9 players i mentioned in an earlier post and sold anyone/everyone else.

But it could be good to start afresh.
Like the enthusiasm but 300m????

Richy and DCL, would get about 120 for the pair, I don't think anyone would pay what we would want to sell anyway. Mina only has a year or two left on his contract so you'll be lucky to get 30m back on him ( silly selling our best defender )

So say 150m at a stretch for those.

You'll be lucky to get 40m for all of Davies/iwobi/Keane and holgate

No worries and I was just responding about someone saying he’d probably prefer to go to London. And IMO only Chelsea could afford him and they don’t need him, well afford how we would want the money paid. I don’t see Arsenal or Spurs in for him.

We won't sell neither Richy or DCL for 60m

Dear god, I nearly fell off the chair then - first time I read that all I saw was sell Davies for £50-£60m, I thought that was a bit over optimistic even for you!
The whole idea of “if we sold etc etc” is pie in the sky stuff, as we have seen over the past 5 or 6 years with some of the dross that’s unfortunately still here - if they don’t want to go they don’t go and we can’t just sell them!
