Yeah exactly I think Lampard will be looking for two CMs, whether now or in the summer. If Allan and Doucoure both stay they can compete for the box to box role that runs about and puts in tackles. We need someone to sit deep and dictate the play, and secondly we need an attacking midfielder with an eye for goal. It’s why our midfield has been so imbalanced for so long.

Its a good point in relation to his Chelsea sides. Just off the top of my head Edson Alvarez at Ajax would fit that demand very nicely in terms of his ability to navigate between the backline and middle of the mark. Might be above our profile for his next move but worthy oof intrigue.

Remember Lampard played Kante as a box to box player....Jorginho or Gilmour as the DM.

Id wager we'd see someone like those two as the DM. Could it be Luiz?

Otherwise, Gana Allan and Doucoure all favour going forwards to press...we need someone to sit really.

According to the rumours I’ve seen, Chelsea aren’t going to stand in the way of any of the coaches Frank wants. Normally I’d be worried about that but these all come with good reputations and knowing Chelsea, they like to freshen things up when results go off the boil a bit so they might see this as an opportunity to do that without sacking Tuchel
