Everton January 2022 Transfer Thread

Dele is still only 25 which I found extremely surprising. He feels washed up and doesn’t seem like he has the appetite for the game anymore
He's just not fitted the systems for the last three managers - it wasn't long ago that he was integral to Poch's Spurs, the last time they were anywhere approaching a good side.

Are you serious mate? Have you seen us this season
Yeah... we've been playing without our two best strikers for most of the season but both are now back and fit?

We currently have Allan, Gomes and Onyango available for the Brentford game in midfield. VDB is more of an attacking player than a holding player, Doucoure is out for at least a month.

Yup not arguing, but saying we don't need a striker is different to saying midfield is higher priority.

How many games has Rondon played, thst shows how much we need another forward
Which I understand and yes that’s fair. That is different. Richy injured as well hurt us. We have plenty of wide players so Richy can go ST when DCL injured.

I see the logic in it but don’t this is a necessity. As long as it doesn’t come at a cost of a midfielder.

My point was more that our midfield has hampered our attack more than anything

Not having that Alli rumour - I can believe he was on the list before they got VDB, but logically it makes no sense now

1) Where would he play, given we've just brought in VDB? He isn't a number 8 really, he's more of a 10, so you couldn't see them playing in a 433 together
2) VDB wouldn't play in a 2 with Alli ahead of them
3) Even with his stock still pretty low, Alli would probably cost a significant fee
4) His wages are huge

I'm not buying it for a moment
