I profoundly disagree - its much more of a balanced midfield than two DMs is, which just invites teams on to us (as we saw ad infinitum in the Gana / Sneids years).

Allan wins the ball, VDB keeps it and uses it, Alli helps out both and makes runs in support of the attack. Its much more difficult to press against.

Ok, but our priority isn’t to add “decent“forwards to the team. Besides Jovic is more of an “one season wonder” imo.

Why not have a back up striker ? Goals haven't exactly been flowing have they ? Ok , Dom has been out , but Rondon is gash . Scoring goals is a priority which is something which needs addressing asap . Its early days yet, Frank might end up signing 4 players

I really, really don’t.

We’re somehow contriving to make an even crapper midfield than we have already, which to be fair is a very impressive feat.

Allan is unfortunately not a defensive midfielder, he has no positional sense whatsoever and turns like the titanic. If you replaced him with let’s say, Bissouma, that midfield trio would work. Allan cannot play the sitting role and that is the reason why that midfield would get destroyed.

£5m is just silly, but so is £50m
The lad will in noway command that sort of fee. Reckon Spurs would be delighted to get shut of him. Just hope it isn't to us.

It's one of those where you think maybe a new club, a new city, a manager with the playing prestige of Lampard might get him going. You'd think he'd want to go play and try get back in the World Cup squad.

This is where we have done our best business in the past. Arteta and Pienaar come to mind all be it this could not be a loan. Same with Donny VDB really. Alli sitting infront of the two midfeilers is much, much better but still the same concern of no natural ball winner.

Allan, in fairness is a ball winner, but he has no pace, so he has to be in a scrap to do his best things. 1v1 v someone with a bit of pace and he can only jockey, he cant always go in fighting as he could get side stepped.

I am, very much a pessimist when it comes to Everton football club and the tohuoght of relegation absolutely scares me to death. I am however becooming more positive. I just dont want to see Gomes and/or Davies in squad again.

No suggestion of Ramsey it seems. Just that he's ogt a choice to make but no hint that we are one of them. Palace are the oens who have been heavily linked.

Didn’t Jovic go back to Frankfurt and then do not very much? We seem to be rumoured with a lot of these players who had a purple patch and then went to crap.

Just because we pulled it off years ago with Pienaar and Arteta people seem to think it’s a viable strategy for us now.

Alli is a completely busted flush IMO. Sad to say about a lad that young but I can honestly see him doing a Bentley and jacking it in before he’s 30.
