Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

I genuinely think they want to throw this season in the bin ASAP.

This summer is going to be the biggest task in recent memory.

I expect us to start off the summer market like this...

Correct...but we were very lucky playing against the worst defense in the division. Garner had a big game and he is going to have to play every single match going forward because we have zero option from the bench....let's hope he doesn't have a setback.
Ah so it’s just luck, ok.

It was Ndiaye and now it’s garner? And we have Tim on the bench and Alcaraz.

There's no way Moyes only wanted 1 player. Clearly something has not gone to plan

Is it a lack of money? Has Moyes not been backed?

Has Moyes turned down lots of players?

Are the players we are targeting for Moyes not good enough ?

Is our recruitment process in need of an overhaul?

I dont now. But I imagine at least one of the above is true.
I guess we'll find out during the next press conference. Moyes doesn't hold back as much as dyche...he was very adamant that we needed new players in.

Looking like one in, you never know possibly two. I’d honestly have taken this situation with massively improved results and go for it in the summer window, even given the few blows on the injury front. PSR is a massive pain in the rear and something I hope we’re waving goodbye to for a little while.

We do now look stronger than the teams below us, couldn’t have said this a month or two ago.

You've got to hand it to the SSN reporters, there's absolutely nothing happening yet they are still all there on a high and trying to convince everyone it's exciting.

I am only worried if Alcaraz doesn't get announced. He is the one player we absolutely have to sign because of his position. Ndiaye is likely the backup striker right now which may or may not be ideal as he has only seen very limited minutes there at the end of games, but he is a goalscorer so there is that. Have to keep the backline healthy. Tim and James coming back will help out that midfield. No need for heads to fall off really. We are comfortable atm and have a game in hand. It will be okay.

The bedwetting going on in here 😄

We will be in the Prem going into Bramley Moore in the summer, with hugely increased revenue (with the psr rules changing to 85% of revenue allowed on the squad), a hugely reduced squad bill and very rich owners.

There will be massive investment in the squad then.
Absolutely agree to this. SSN and the premier league have got you all hooked waiting for some news before the window slams shut and at this late stage like a drunk on the dance floor at 3am willing to take any skirt they can get home.

With the last three wins and results going our way in the main, I’d rather sit this out and wait for a cleaner slate in the summer rather than taking on dross for the sake of it. Small squad indeed but we need to just scrape another three wins and we are as good as safe, no reason after the last three weeks that we can do that.

We already have a lot of dross that needs to leave due to quality and size of wages so it would make no sense to add more rubbish to that which we can’t shift in the next 12 months.

Hang tight, three more wins then we are on the beach and the real work can begin once we get this horror show of a season out of our system.

if we didn’t have dyche for the first part of season we may have been better position to attract also
