Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

One extreme to the other 😆 €58m
A RB with working legs would be a start
well tbf I doubt we'd be paying the full release clause, given they appear to be in some financial difficulties of their own

but maybe first signs of a new game afoot for the Blues, aye

Getting ahead of ourselves i see . Dangerous

I suspect that you jest, but I think we should be optimistic, and I personally can’t stand some of the defeatism that I encounter.

Both Villa and Newcastle turned it around within 12 months. Not 12 years, not 12 decades, but 12 months!

Both of them!

I'd like to hope that we'll have an ability to improve the squad in January to help ensure we stay in the league, assuming we're still in a precarious position come the end of the year. I don't think we necessarilly need to spend huge sums of money to push us up the league initially, although we do need significant investment if we want to seriously compete in the medium to long term.

Whilst I recognise that Dyche has had to cope with a great deal of upheaval and has been working in difficult circumstances, I really do think that whilst our squad isn't the best, it is capable of much more with some better coaching.

For me, the ideal situation is that we strengthen in some key areas in January, make it to the end of the season away from the relegation battle, and part ways with Dyche in the summer when his contract runs out.

I agree with pretty much all that.

The time to rebuild is in the summer under a new management team.

Clearly all areas of the team need improvement but the one absolute urgent position to look at in January and for the future is full back.

Hopefully we address that area and leave the remainder of funds for the summer.
