Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Some of you need to realise January transfer window hype just isn't a thing anymore. If we get alcaraz then that's a good window in my opinion. We get a good young player with potential. We also have irigbounam coming back into what is currently a winning side. We have strength everywhere but the wings and up top but have mcneil coming back there too.

If we were 1 point off safety it looks different but this team has more than enough to safely stay up and go into the summer in a stronger position. Does put pressure on beto somewhat but could do him some good. If he gets injured then Keano goes up front

Start your post saying it’s been a good window and end it by suggesting Michael Keane plays up front.

Why are we so happy with this crap?

For some short term cover?

I’d have even had Willian as a free agent. If Ndiaye goes down tomorrow it’s Harrison and Lindstrom starting with no one off the bench.

There’s not a single decent kid at a top European team who maybe isn’t playing enough who wouldn’t want half a season on loan at a decent prem team playing most weeks?

We always get forced into this dichotomy of ‘it’s either top players for big money, or a load of rubbish no one wants’. There’s a load in between but Everton just refuse to find it these days.

Id have had Willian here. The fact you're even bringing up him tells its own story. Your other option is just pie in the sky some kid maybe. Basically you dont know.
The january window is mostly clubs trying to dump players not cutting it. Sky have glammed it up to something like a hollywood gala night. The closed season is where the real business happens.
Like said. Your mate Dyche leaving the building in january was better than 10 new signings.
We did our business.

How do we have two loan players who are injured for the rest of the season, yet we haven't terminated their loans to free up space for additional players?

It’s also concerning that the other loan is we a substitute sitting on the bench with our goalkeepers not getting any minutes.

surely you send back to parent clubs with 3 new loans coming in.
It’s not as simple as just terminating the loan, both the loan club and parent club have to be in full agreement to do so, like Forest and West Ham did this morning for Ward-Prowse

Something PSR-ish surely, in addition to a lack of anything that covers the present and the future. Think clubs tryin to have balanced years, rather than 1 year boom and 2 years bust.

If JB is to leave in summer, being frugal now may mean the difference between panic selling in June for £60m, or waiting until August and £75m. 🤷‍♂️

Lots of fawning about how Moyes clearly loves the club. If he saw nothing worth doing that was achievable, we probably have to trust it.

The 3 wins have brought smiles and optimism. So this anti-climax feels really flat after last weekend. Disappointing but probably not surprising in the end.

Not injured for the rest of the season though are they?

But wait, Wikipedia had Alcaraz loaned to us at the weekend, doesn't that count? :) (Since switched back)

Yeah, Flamengo with leverage and looking for a bigger loan fee no doubt.

As to Alan Myers, wasn't he the one that said we had a deal for Fellows earlier today? Not much credibility there.

Best to just wait for the obligatory photo and official announcement on Alcaraz.

Regarding Armstrong, I would have kept him and just played him a bit more to close games out, he certainly looks capable from what little we've seen. Hopefully the loan brings him back that much stronger in the summer.

Up the Toffees.

The problem under mosh is that we splashed on flops for years, so I suppose I could understand the perspective of "don't spend for the sake of spending"

Scene: Finch Farm (interior)

DM: Ok, Kevin, I hear you’ve got a database of players of interest from your sprawling network of global contacts. Pass it over, let’s take a look.

(KT rustles in his rucksack and passes a thick, dog eared folder to DM)

KT: All in there, boss.

DM: Ok…let’s see…Wily Gnonto…ok…next one…looks like Wily Gnonto in sunglasses and a hat?…(DM flicks pages)…third guy…Wily Gnonto with a false moustache…Wily Gnonto wearing a wig and a sun hat…?…Kevin, are these all Wily Gnonto?

(Repeat to fade…camera pans out to silhouette of Moyes tossing photos of Wily Gnonto in various unconvincing disguises up in the air whilst KT fiddles with his 3/4 zip nervously).

No that was Alan Nixon, who’s now put his X account on private

Myers said nothing about Fellows.
