Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

If dcl is sold, that alone should allow us to sign ferguson permanently as long as TFG is prepared to put the money on the table. He would probably cost around 55 millions. If we sell dcl and replace him with a loan, it means that again we are working with our hands tied behind our back.

Right now he’s too much of a risk for me. He wasn’t even in their last match day squad but no word on if he got injured again. Something not right there.

Prolific. Kev frantically seeing if we can send Harrison back to free up a loan spot….

What a waste. Seen him play for City in person a few times and his sole job is to stand on the touchline to force the full back out of the box. And if he gets the ball, to slowly dribble, backing the scared full back into the box, then as soon as the double team arrives lay it softly back to the LB or midfielder to switch the play quickly. And repeat. Looks bored senseless.

City got rinsed here by villa...this guy is nowhere near a player worth 100 millions pounds. Yes he has a role to play in city when he plays like any other midfielder. However not scoring a goal in 2024, in a team that creates so much is shocking. I found nunes to be more effective than this guy when playing on the left, and he was half the price.

God that Nunes has been absolutely woeful for them too. Their recruitment has been really poor in the last couple of years. Would have been better to just keep Mahrez.

I like him but with all the off field issues that have been mentioned by others, £55mil is steep. Hes only played 200mins ish in the league this season.

If we sold DCL & Beto then £20-35mil range of bids for Ferguson, Jonathan David & Samu Omorodian (who changed his name to Aghehowa). See if any bite.

Castro at Bologna has also been linked.

The Friedkins need to get the chequebook out in January and get some attacking reinforcements in because whoever is in the dugout for the rest of the season won’t have much joy with the attacking players we’ve got at the moment.

If you want attacking improvements you need to get in a new manager first. He could do something radical like trust Ndiaye at number 10. Would obviously still need to sign at least another wide player, probably two.

If we're using DCL as a top up the fee needs to reflect his value. The 15m is inflated and only works if we're buying someone for a similarly inflated fee.

Is Almiron totally useless these days? Wasn't that long ago he was scoring most weeks for them and he's still quicker than anything at this club out wide. Someone who could possibly do a solid job for 18 months while waiting for younger signings to make the step up.

That's a realistic player to get from Newcastle. In what world would Lewis Hall go from being automatic pick at LB and now playing for England and fighting for CL to come and play in a relegation battle here?!

Dyche would insist on Trippier in any Newcastle swop deal, you just know it.

He actually came in and did a decent job against Villa the other day but would be comical to have three RBs in the squad and the "youngest" is 34!

If we used him in the same way Forest use Wood, then we'd see a lot more goals from him.

But you're right, Everton at the moment aren't doing him any favours
Forrest surprised me with how direct they were, they effectively are Everton only they can score. Actually shows how effective that football can be when you have someone putting the ball away.

Makes me wonder what Dyche is doing on the training ground because practicing shooting doesn’t appear to be something he puts much stock in.

Almiron hasn't ever been that prolific in terms of goals and assists. He's a decent player but we need goals.
