Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

If we sign Philogene does that mean Fellows is not coming or could they play on the flanks with Ndiaye central?

McNeil / Lindstrom rotating.

Both of them can play on both sides but Philogene is probably better on the left and Fellows better on the right but they could switch which would be interesting.

The odds of us signing either one are low, so I’d highly doubt we’d target 2 wingers (even if we need them). Maybe if we could have got Philogene on loan first we’d have targeted both, but nope, we’ve got Harrison and a crocked Broja hogging the domestic slots. We need both to make a difference and depth, mainly we need a manager who would allow them to play to their strengths

Just looking at Newcastle, and they have barely made a single mis-step in the market since the takeover. Consistently good signings.
When did we even last sign a player that has been a hit? N’Diaye looks decent, but my god recruitment has been dreadful. Needs to improve as of now.
Pretty easy to do well with unlimited money and a good manager. Almost makes you forget that they just had to have a firesale to avoid PSR breaches in July and signed a gambling addict for 60 mil who immediately got a year ban.

It’s not pretty easy when you are in the relegation zone, and plenty of clubs have wasted money when they had it (very clearly)
Tonali is actually looking a very good player this season btw.

And not really a fire sale just because they sold Anderson and Minteh (who hadnt kicked a ball for them)

Dont think be after both as will want more poaitiobs sorted aswell

I think we need to bring in 2 players for those wide areas. Come summer we'll only have Ndiaye and McNeil who can play there. Either of those two may be used as ACM as well...so Fellows, Philogene, Ndiaye, McNeil & Armstrong actually could 'complete' the 3 positions behind the centre forward.

Thsy had massive room in PSR as Ashley was a skinflint.

Having said that, I would have signed Guimaraes and Tonali years and years ago.

The masterstroke has been Guimaraes & Isak playing consistently. With those two they have had talismanic figures in midfield and attacking positions....we have none.

Not sure if bs but le fee at roma looks like going sunderland on loan could have been a good option here

Expected him to be loaned to us.
