Always interesting in a transfer thread, to see whose head completely falls off first. Looks like it's @GoldenToffee this time around.

Just wait until the news filters through that Richarlison is fit enough to be involved in the North London derby tomorrow...Always interesting in a transfer thread, to see whose head completely falls off first. Looks like it's @GoldenToffee this time around.

No heads falling off here, I simply pine for transfers in the coming fortnight, as I'm sure we all do.Always interesting in a transfer thread, to see whose head completely falls off first. Looks like it's @GoldenToffee this time around.

No think Moyes basically ran the club along with his coaches and scouts. DOF wasn't really a think in English football then as far as I can rememberDid Moyes have a DOF in his time in charge of us? He seemed to like being in control of whatever players came in and he might prefer to look after that side himself.
not sure if this guy know his stuff, saying that Lyon want £25m for Nuamah. This is similar to the prices quoted in the summer when Fulham tried to sign him and he left part way through his medical.
I may be misguided but given our situation, I think for £25m the player should have clear evidence of having delivered goals/assists in their career. Even if it was at a lower level / league.£25m million seems almost like loose change for a player now but we've had to be so frugal that in Everton terms, it seems like a small fortune.
You want value for money on every signing and a resale value if possible. I don't expect we have much to actually spend this window but for Nuamah specifically, it seems a high fee and he has limited appearances and zero goals this season. I guess over a longer contact not so much.
Still doesn't seem worth the gamble to me. Also will be interesting to see how spending evolves under TFG stewardship. They will want to run a tight enough ship I imagine but we also have Thelwell and now Moyes that have been conditioned to operating under severely restricted budgets, though Moyes was backed at West Ham.
That should be a strength to a degree but you would also wonder what scars the past have left and if there is a chance that ultra caution turns into dithering and we miss out on some opportunities.
To be fair that doesn’t take much.Walker Peters would be an upgrade on all our current full backs
Dunno how low a level you're willing to go but the lad was close to 1 in 2 two seasons ago in Denmark.I may be misguided but given our situation, I think for £25m the player should have clear evidence of having delivered goals/assists in their career. Even if it was at a lower level / league.
I included centre backs that Moyes signed at Everton showing the profile. Again this was a point on pace, not quality. And you included 2 loan players that played a total of about 2 games between them for us and Heitenga who played in a back four including Distin and Coleman (so a quick back four overall) and was player of the year showing not every player needs to be quick. If you look at our back 4s through the 90s, 00s, 10s, and 20s the defenders signed by Moyes are all of the quickest players excluding Branthwaite.
But not Everton.Agreed, who Moyes signed for West Ham.
More chance of us signing Kolo Toure.I wonder if there's any truth in the rumour about Kolo Muani?
