Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Well at the start of next season we won't have Young or Coleman ( I would be incredulous if we offered them new deals).

We have to take a view on Dixon. Is he good enough to be back up ? Based on what little I've seen - yes.

So, next question is do you want Patterson to be your starting full back and is he going to stay fit? It's probably a no to each of those questions so yes I'd move him on and buy a starting full back.

It's a similar situation up front.

Is Beto good enough to be starting or back up ?

Is Chermiti going to stay fit and good enough to be back up?

Is DCL going to sign a new contract and do we even want him to for £130k per week with such a poor goalscoring record?

Hate to sound like Zat but I think I'd let DCL go , move Beto on and bring in a quality striker.
Whether we want it to be Patterson or not is irrelevant: I'm fairly confident Dyche doesn't, so he won't be playing regularly under him any time soon.

But then, Dyche may not be here long-term, so hopefully the club's hierarchy take that into consideration. It'll all boil down to where they feel we need to prioritise.

Who goes down. Assuming you are following up all the nibbles you're having today about hypothetical situations?
It’s incredibly likely Ipswich get relegated. Wolves might get out the mud but it’s almost certain that they’ll be selling any players who have impressed at this level once they go down. Are you new to football?

Right back & left back need upgrading.

Coleman & Young are 105, Patterson isn’t good enough & Mykolenko has been poor for a while. Long term we need 2 full backs, a winger & probably a centre forward.

Cant see us doing much in Jan, so maybe a loan move for a full back will do short term.
Who would you suggest out of interest?

I completely agree here, because it limits us defensively and importantly offensively. You rarely see our full backs getting up the pitch, overlapping or supporting.

Now, I do feel a part of this is down to Dyche's dinosaur tactics, however neither of our current choices are overly quick or attacking minded.

Agreed , which is why I referenced the start of next season Phil.

Dyche can't be here then. Mind you much more of what we saw last night and he won't be here in January either

I dont agree with this. I think we've seen in the past how certain players have chosen other clubs over us based on many factors:

Style of play
Location
Manager
Other players
Even stadium / training ground
Wages / taxes

Circumstances can quickly change in football and whether we could get him and whether Wolves or him would be open to a deal...you never know unless you try!
Zat he has been linked with the likes of City and Bayern, if those types come in for him again he won't look sideways at us as we have nothing to offer him basically.
